Re: QFF points for gift vouchers

Can I buy these vouchers and then book an EK flight via the Qantas Website?

My theory

1) Buy vouchers worth $1500
2) Book QF8761 (EK J AKL-MEL) on QF website using vouchers
3) Sit back happy with my points??

For one person or 3 people? The only potential flaw is that $1500 of vouchers would have to either be for 3 people on one booking or in 3 vouchers. In theory 3 vouchers have to be used for separate bookings.

Re: QFF points for gift vouchers

I have to say I absolutely love this promotion!!! Being a self-funded WP, my spend is not huge with QF but thanks to having a destination wedding next year I've managed to book about 15k worth of vouchers (for family/guests etc.) so far, with more to come. 150k of bonus pts + cc points makes me a very happy camper. Thanks QF & Red Roo!!

Sorry should be for 2 person.

Fare is $649 so perhaps I can by 2 x $500 vouchers and pay the remaining $149 on my CC?

However, I think I read something in this thread about flight having to originate in AUS? This is for a AKL-MEL flight so that may ruin my plans...

Travel must originate in Australia to be booked using vouchers.

Yes it has been noted here and on the website that vouchers are:

Qantas Flight Gift Vouchers are redeemable for one-way or return Qantas domestic or international travel departing Australia. Valid for bookings within 12 months of the voucher issue date.

Sorry I've read all the posts and I think I'm still unclear on the "only one voucher can be redeemed per booking" condition. Family of 5 with a booking cost of circa $15,000 for a return flight next year. Can I

1. buy 30 x $500 vouchers and apply them against the 1 booking for 5 pax or am I limited to

2. 1 voucher for 5 pax at 5 x $500 = $2,500 or am I stuck with buying

3. One only $500 voucher that I can apply to the trip

Or to put this in very simple terms is there any way to use this offer to purchase a voucher(s) that I can use for a return flight for a family of 5 all travelling together that will cost $15,000

Thanks in advance

HI All - This is my first...

With these vouchers, can you purchase one online and use it the same day? Or do you have to wait until you receive the card itself in the mail?

I was hoping to buy it this morning and book my flight this afternoon. What are the chances?

Cheers!

As soon as you book it, you are given the booking reference. Write that down and you can more or less book it straightaway - you might need to wait 5 or so mins. The booking reference is the important piece of information anyway.

Thanks! Off to watch the test, get some FFpoints and DSC this week in that case!

Only one Voucher per booking.

Max voucher is $500.

Flights have to depart from Australia if international = cannot use for one way return legs

So all in all for international flights that means a maximum of one $500 voucher per booking per international trip departing Australia. IF BOOKED as separate bookings you can repeat per person.

Only one Voucher per booking. Per Passenger if booked together (eg a voucher can have 5 pax @ $500 each)

Yes one voucher for 5 people valued at $500 pet person.

Is it a domestic trip? (I assume not) If it is domestic you can book 2 one way trips using 1 voucher for 5 people each way.

You can have upto 9 people on each voucher. Each costing the value of the voucher (ie the biggest voucher is $4500). But that voucher then has to be used to book the same number of seats as people on the voucher. Name changes possible but can't be split.

Again...I was using maximum re maximising points gained and not maximising the number of people....as per the person that I was replying to question.
