Just put $5,000 on ATO and those 100,000 points can be yours for $27 is a thought that crossed my mind. No need to struggle up to many zillions of dollars of purchases.

Oh, the 100,000 are already in the bag, never fear. It's just the concept of the bank thinking its necessary to say I can't earn more than 100 million points that has me confused / bemused.

Used this card to pay for some taxes on QF/IB/AA award flights, should that trigger the lounge pass?

Maybe it's easier for their systems to put a numerical limit on the statement rather than to say Unlimited.

Cards arrived today in the mail. Activated. Registered for Qantas lounge passes and bought a $50 Qantas voucher. T&Cs say passes can take 3 to 4 weeks. Anyone had them arrive sooner?

Well that's embarrassing. I didn't know there were lounge passes on offer. I don't need, but a rellie could probably be able to use.

Where abouts do you register? I have Qantas FF number against the account OK (in the application) but where does that appear after you have logged onto one's account?

Go to the details tab on that page and it gives you the link to sign up for priority pass and the passes.

I got the statement with the 100,000,000 point cap too. Hoping its a typo and they follow that theme through when processing my bonus :D

I struggled to find the link on Westpac site but found one earlier in this thread. Also get Amex lounge access in Sydney by swiping Keen to get Qantas passes though ... off to Hawaii soon!

Is AMEX still the top choice because of the extra points earn. I know it's not accepted as widely as visa but is that actually much of an issue say with supermarkets and fuel etc?

Amex IME provides the biggest points per dollar earn. All the major supermarkets, stores, Telstra etc accept with no surcharges. Only tends to be small business/govt that add extra.

Funky - better to use AMEX..... but better still to use the AMEX Edge (3 points per dollar at Coles/Woolworths and 2 points per dollar for fuel). :)

AMEX IME provides far better value and flexibility for general spend.

I typically churn all the QF Point earning cards like Westpac/ANZ Black just for the sign-ons to get my award flights, but put all my spend on my AMEXs for the free hotel stays.

Where AMEX isn't accepted, I always have my handy prepaid EFTPOS (bought with AMEX) for such situations ;)

So I just got approved for my credit card and in the email I received, they said there is a $396 annual fee for the card and there is nothing about waiving fees for existing customers.
I opened a Reward Saver account just before applying for the card.

Should I be worried or is it fine?
