Re: US Dividend Miles - Award Booking Questions and General Discussion

Is there a limit to the amount of miles one can share / receive each year?

No, only a "limit" per promotion, and even then it's not really a limit, just that any miles purchased / received from share over the promotion terms will not be subject to bonus.

OK - it's probably 50K with the 'het up to bit', Since there are no limit terms on the current promo page waiting is in order to see if there is an update on the 'share' page when the promotion become active for confiormation.

The Share Miles portal will likely have the T&Cs to that effect, but the launch page here has the relevant fine (feint?) print at the bottom.

Happy to share with anyone who is in SYD this week and have some time on their hands. up to the 50K max.

Wow! What a dream. I was pissed I didn't get the targeted offer in Nov but glad I didn't now!

From my experience with the last share promo, points took a while to post to each account. I think it was about 2/3 days between, so a complex share strategy might be pushing it for this one I think - will test the waters tomorrow and see how quickly things work.

Generally if its :

1. Not a new account
2. Not a weekend

the miles are almost instant, otherwise some human intervention is needed which can take up until the next business day.

Well there you go - my bleary 10pm eyes did not perceive that I should scroll down past the 'footer navigation menu'.

00:00:01 Pacific time? That's 7:00:01pm in the DRPV ...

Ah well, some more damage to my CC this month. Shame I spent on about 120K (60+60 though spread over a few transactions) as top up last month now. Will look to maximise this over 5 accounts this month, we actually have 7 accounts in the family but with previous share promo, the buy points and now this am starting to struggle to work out how to spend this. On the other side, at this price how can you really turn this down, even if they do devalue a bit its a seriously good price.

Hi Everyone - Long time lurker - I am a Virgin Platinum but keen to get some US Airways Miles - think its amazing value and happy for them to become AA miles eventually....

Anyone keen to work together on a swap - Got two accounts a few months old keen to get maximum value out of the offer.

Let me know. Based in Brisbane if that helps.

I just executed my first share with this promo. Not instant (both to & from accounts have been open for over 2 months, one with purchases and shares already executed in the last promo + a points balance). Will report back when they do post.

Planning on doing the following:

A - C (50+50)
C - A (50+50)
C - B (50+50)

End result 200k, a net increase of 150k (100k each in A & B with 0 in C) for a cost of $1702.50 which is a cost of $0.01135 per point (1702.50/150 000)

So this assumes then that A has 50k miles to give?

First transaction done, despite the we'll let you know via email message points are there already!

Same experience here, points vanished in one account right away and when logging into account B a minute later, 50K + 50K points have magically appeared. Will do the reverse transfer tomorrow. This is really the most cost-effective way of "earning" points...

Second transfer not immediate but it is the difficult one, between my two sisters who have different names and different to mine for the CC. Did it early as thats the one that takes time!!

Now can the AUD go up overnight against the USD please, maybe up by a cent or two would be nice :)

My shares A to b and b to c have completed without delay (have shared between them before) will do C to A tomorrow and all done and dusted. Can not wait to be able to use these on oneworld flights

I did our two sons accounts tonight. Used my US Amex as we still have some 1.05 currency to spend seeing Mrscove was the currency guru.
Sharing was pretty quick each way.
