1000 points for 5 transactions

Well it looks like the points have stopped for me - I've received 4x1000 points, the last on the 9th of August. I've had about 15 transactions since then and no more appearing. Hopefully that's not the monthly cap - though I guess at least it won't take too much in the way of effort to reach that target each month. :D

Look forward to hearing if anyone else has a similar outcome or if they keep earning beyond four bonuses.

Looking at my transaction history this morning, I am getting 1000 per 5 transactions, but it seems, for me, to have started counting from 3/8/09.

It's definitely 1/8/09 for me only 10 trans but 2 x1000 bonus

Well. we have 6 bonuses now. Interestingly all in groups of 2 (on 3 transactions, they have 2 extra lines at 1,000 points each).

The "count" must start prior to the start of August, as there haven't been 30 transactions in August yet. Looks like possibly 30th July may have been the starting date.

I've gotten 3 lots so far, all posted retroactively as I'd not noticed them there before.

So happy - the other half got into the swing of things. :D It must have been when I pointed out that we'd redeem a J/F tix to Seoul (he's mad about Korea) if we work hard enough this promo period. :p

I'd say there will be a cap in place, so you'd be lucky to get enough for that type of redemption. That being said, it's as good a motivator as any

I meant in addition to the points we've already accumulated. :P

edit - it's now turned into a race to out-transact each other. i think i've created a monster...

In my case, either the weekend of 1 and 2 August does not count, or if they should then there is some bonus points missing. Of course, given the current lack of T&C's everything is really just a bonus!

Lucky I happened across this thread - it made me look at my MR balance online for the first time since the last promo.

Looks like I'm a lucky one - Amex Plat, Brisbane (with Supp Card).

We've had 16 transactions between us to date from 1/8 and got 2 x 1K bonuses so far. The bonuses aren't showing up on a separate line, they are in the bonus column. They were added to the 12th transaction (made on 10/8) and 14th (11/8). So it could be that they are manually adding them as if it is 5T/1K, then I'm owed 1K already.

Hmmm, should I tell the wife :rolleyes:

I should clarify - for me they are in the bonus column (added to a "real" transactions). If you expand the tranasaction (the + button), to see the details of the bonus, I then get 3 lines of additional information, with a breakdown - 1 for Platinum Bonus points, then 2 more each for 1,000 points on this promotion.

They believe it is capped at 4,000 per month.
They still do not know how long the promotion is on.

Certainly concurs with my experience, though there's a couple of others that seem to have gone beyond that already. I guess we'll see in the next couple of days if more people hit that barrier.

I think I am one of the couple of others - seeing a total of 6,000. May be a couple of days before seeing whether any more post or a cap has been reached (public holiday here in Brisbane yesterday, so no transactions done...)

Well as long as its 4k per month as long as your card and account is in good standing, I'd take it

I'm on the promo. Yay! It took a while but it is there.

Ladies and Gentlemen, start your points milking!!!

...OK, subject to any caps.

Should there be a reason to call Amex, alert them of the fact of a "promo" and then see them start to retro-whatever-ly put unseen and unwelcome boundaries on this whole thing? Or should we just go about our "business" silently and see how many points we can rack up?

As for those with wives/husbands/partners/etc., I see no reason why you shouldn't tell them to "go for it"....

 Whoops, forgot about that little trick.

Go ahead and live dangerously
Particularly with her in a "nesting" state of mind at present. There will be lots of transactions in the next couple of months, maybe not as many as the previous promo...but what I am worried about is the qantum spent :o

Here we go again, somebody puts a promo in place and CS aren't even in the loop...why can't Marketing sit down with CS and brief them all properly . Of course, that's presuming that Marketing have told CS about the promo ...who knows with Amex :?:

Oh the rumour mill has started quickly on this one.

I can confirm I have received 6000 bonus points and I know nothing about the promotion.:)

I do hope this thread does not go the way of the original "Amex Bonus" thread.
