My Grandfather on his return from WW1 did not have a great opinion of Veteran's Affairs. He was due for medals but he was told he had to apply for them. He figured if he had to apply for them then they weren't worth having. He didn't stand on ceremony either. His pride and joy was his first grandson (my brother). He would not have minded the people resting there.

It's funny the main story being passed onto me from my great grandfather was of sitting on a log and having a smoke with his Turkish mate during various truces.

I've just arrived home from Turkey tonight (via DOH and KUL). Now I'm home and have time to reflect I still can't quite comprehend that I won't be getting on a bus with 28 other Aussies tomorrow to tour the Turkish countryside. I won't be going out all night drinking Efes. Won't be sitting around talking about our Anzac Day experiences.

I think we all have positive experiences about our journey to Gallipoli, for me it was an incredible two weeks that I'll never forget and would love to recreate!

I would love to add a few more photos to my post, however, I've trouble with my phone camera.

However, this one did come through ....ZZo51kBmvCA_jfP0iYpmWL7btRM-v10ZlEOCR6OSL2I.jpg

Everywhere. And there were more of those than 'Western' toilets at rest stops or other public toilets.

Just waiting for online sales for April for the Last Supper in Milan to open up, so we can get some tickets at a reasonable price rather than booking a tour. :)

How did you get on with this? Had another look at your TR and couldn't see .... I'm wanting to book for the 4 of us for later this year. Thinking I won't wait and will just book a tour for certainty.

Have replied to a PM about this, but just in case anyone else needs the info, it was very easy to do. I used the official site vivaticket.it and the process of buying tickets and paying for them was easy and the receipts/tickets emailed to us. Very inexpensive.
