Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

He has been required to surrender his samsung galaxy in favour of a secure encrypted device. Much like Obama who was an avid twitter user. Interestingly when Obama used twitter he was lauded. The same people are now critisizing Trump for doing the same.

Apparently that wont stop him using his own personal twitter account as well as the POTUS handle

I suspect the difference is in how they used it.

As for the kid, that would suck. I guess most 10yo's would have parental supervision when using the Internet. But not many will have to deal with the level of cyber oversight he will. Not much fun in that. Especially as he gets a little older.

Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

I have stayed away from commenting on Melania. My view is that its better for her to do whatever she wants rather than pretend she is trying to fix some (usually) social problem - maybe she can solve one of those "difficult" world peace problems that DT's Miss universe pageant asks of its contestants:lol:.

But seriously what a spouse or partner does or does not do should not matter. If she wants to be a stay at home mother then that should be as respected as someone who is a CEO.

I think there is a very strong expectation for the First Lady to play an active role in the Office of the President - not the politics as such but certainly more than a stay at home mother (who do a fantastic job btw) so in reality she's signed up for that job courtesy of Trump.

Oh come on, there were many more people at the Trump 'do'. It's all a media lie - bet they photoshopped the people out of the photos :)

Indeed they did not present the reality in the photograph and the tweet already withdrawn and apologies made.

Ya really need to filter the info whatmeworry. It's not helping your case.

Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

The data doesn't lie.

Aerial photos have indicated that former president Barack Obama's first inauguration attracted a much larger crowd. Nielsen ratings show that Obama also had a bigger television audience.

And Spicer said, "We know that 420,000 people used the D.C, Metro public transit yesterday, which actually compares to 317,000 for president Obama's last inaugural."
Spicer's number for ridership on Friday was actually low -- the correct number, according to Metro itself, was 570,557. But there were actually 782,000 trips taken for Obama's second inaugural in 2013.
Spicer, at times almost yelling while reading a prepared statement, took no questions. CNNMoney called his cell phone a few minutes later; he did not answer.

Some longtime White House correspondents were stunned by the tirade.
Glenn Thrush of The New York Times wrote on Twitter, "Jaw meet floor."
"I've run out of adjectives," wrote Chuck Todd, the moderator of NBC's "Meet the Press."
Karen Tumulty of the Washington Post said Spicer's assertion about "what you guys should be writing" was "chilling."

Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

Surprised They didn't blame the Russians for the crowds

Simple answer. The crowds turned up when it mattered. And Trump's supporters probs had to work and pay the bills

Additionally if the crowds were thin, it can only mean the anarchist protest rentacrowd was even smaller.

ABC news site is still showing the Trump claim that it was the biggest crowd in history.
The National Park Service was instructed not to retweet anything negative apparently - they then apologised for the retweets. I still think the photos show an accurate picture of attendance.
Though it's all academic and not really important in the scheme of things :)

Yep even if no one turned up it does not change the facts.

But yes crowds were thinner than previous. Unfortunately they can't get off the narrative that Hilary should have been president.

Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

Absolutely pathetic!
Since when did a 10 year old boy become fair game for for the churlish comments of those who just don't like his father?

It should be obvious even to an unqualified observer that Barron Trump likely suffers from Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Commendably, his parents ignore this, at least in public.

And yet some people on this thread think it's OK to poke fun at the kid in an oblique attempt to find something else wrong with his father.
Talk about being "lower than a snake's belly"!........................

We shouldn't be too surprised with the repugnant attacks on Barron Trump though - the left is the side of politics who are cheerleaders for every abortion and mourn when the abortion rate fails to increase rapidly. They see abortion as the apotheosis of womanhood - so it is unsurprising that they are willing to abuse children and use them as social battering rams.

I don't know if President Trump is a racist or not, but it would appear the first thing he did was to kick a black man and his family out of house they had been living in for the past 8 years:)

He also took his job. ;)

Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

Putting aside my differing opinion of the new President's speech, I am curious to hear about all these traditions that the people of the US aren't currently allowed to celebrate.
Going to one's respective sex toilet and celebrating relief, in Obama's gender-fluid world (especially for women).

Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

Excerpt from today's Herald Sun:

"There were so many abusive tweets about Trump’s young son Barron after the inauguration that CNN anchor Jake Tapper implored people to stop the “odious, immoral and self-defeating” mockery of a child.

Can you imagine the reaction had Barack Obama’s daughters been subjected to such ugly invective?"

Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

I just cant get over the reaction to Trump and his unacceptable words and Clinton who at least 8 women have accused him of sexual assault,2 of actual rape.
Now not found guilty but Paula Jones was paid $US850000 as an out of court settlement. Why?
Why the huge difference between saying and doing?

Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

Trumps 'address' to the CIA etc whoops and claps according to the press who attended, were provided by Trump's staff that were placed in the audience.

Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

Haha why is the media so concerned now about "true news"

Nothing new. Same happens at all press interviews. That's why you have people surrounding a politician giving an interview all nodding in agreement

Can guarantee that Hilary would have done the same and did
