It's what you have to do.

Trump, quite clearly, believes he came up with the phrase "prime the pump."
Loved Trump (aka Alec Baldwin) on SNL with an alternate meaning for priming the pump (comment is probably NSFW). AS Trump gets weirder and weirder, SNL is likewise going more and more "over the top" with their portrayal of Trump, "Spicey" (brilliantly played by Melissa McCarthy) and KellyAnne Conway.

.... and is trying, probably unknowingly, to work toward being a dictator.

I dont think dictator is his end game. I think hes not use to hearing no and doesnt fully understand why he doesnt get to be king of the castle with an adoring crowd, as he hands out coloured maps of the voting results.

Its most probably the first time hes never been able to bullpoop, bully, sue or pay off someone to get his way or make a problem go away.

He thinks he is there now - he has zero comprehension of the fact that he alone 'is not above the law' - asking Comey was he under investigation - HTF does he get off thinking he can ask the highest law enforcement agency in the land that question.

And then openly boasting it was his decision and his decision alone to dismiss the 'Director of the FBI'

Trump needs some type of disaster or terrorist attack to declare a state of emergency. Then we will see whether he goes into full dictator mode as the other branches of government are keeping him in check.

Trump is transparent. He is using the Presidency to enrich himself and his family by changing laws regarding inheritance and taxation. He also has dozens of conflicts of interests worldwide.

I love how for every idiot decision he makes, there is a past tweet where he coughed about the exact same thing.

Reports hitting that Comely documented multiple meetings with Trump and how Trump asked the FBI to 'let go" the investigation into Flynn because "hes a good guy".

I always believed the long term plan was Pence & Co to remove Trump. Pence isnt much better but at least I dont seethe in rage at having to stomach the idea of him being President for another 3.5yrs.

Ease up you dudes - why wouldn't the Donald have the 'Absolute Right' to share sensitive airline related terrorist information with the Ruskies? It's not like as if the Ruskies would ever be involved in bringing down a plane would they?

What's that you say? ........................ MH17? ..................D'Oh..................yep I forgot that one!

You might not be on the list of people Pence wants to electrocute for behaviour modification purposes.

There's a very interesting article I read on the topic of Trump's success and his appeal to what the interviewee calls the "white working class", in financial times over the weekend. Basically saying that the white working class are sick of being talked down to by the "elite" or professional classes. Something relevant for here, how many times has derision of bogans been a theme on AFF?

The article is behind a pay wall but can be reached by entering "Joan C Williams on Trump, elitism and the white working class" into google.

One of the interesting quotes is:

When I ask what he has delivered to the WWC since his election, Williams cuts me off: “Dignity! He delivered the biggest FU to my crowd that they have seen in decades.”

And how does Trump keep the WWC behind him? “I think Trump just needs to keep on being Trump. That’s the sobering fact. The irony is that Trump is the most hysterical, emotional president in living memory, he’s like a caricature of a woman out of control, but following his gut connects him to the white working class. His continuing gestures of disrespect to cultural elites, through Twitter and other means, are just inestimably delicious.”

I'm not a Trump fan, far from it, but continuing to deride him as in idiot is ignorant to the reasons he's doing what he is doing.

Trump makes someone's graduation all about him and claims that "No politician in history has been treated worse"

Pretty sure JFK would have a claim on that, if he lived that is.

But you also missed adding his claim 'I have achieved so much in such a short period of time as President' - dunno what he is smoking but I would love to get my hands on some of it.

Its that "finite" amount of energy he has ;)

"It's your fault!"
"Nah, it's your fault!"

I'm not American, but have a lot of relatives and friends in the USA. Last year, I landed there the week after the election to spend Thanksgiving with my extended family, and we actually felt it necessary to make a rule of "no political discussion" during Thanksgiving, for fear of having fights (...verbal or otherwise ) at that precious time of year. I was feeling quite upset about the whole situation, as were my American relatives of similar political persuasions. Meanwhile, I was staying at the home of two of my Fox News-devouring, Trump-voting relatives. It's amazing just how divisive this election has been, even just within one family.

On another note, a few weeks ago, my mother told me she'd caught up with one of our family friends on the phone. Said family friend exclaimed to my mother: "Gosh, I can't believe I voted for Trump! I didn't realise he was such a lunatic!" ...:shock::shock:

I have just spent the last week and a half in the US and decided to ask a number of people I heard going on about Trump and some African American people the same couple of questions just to see their responses. They were basically all the same except some were more focused on the "black"people. Kind of went like this.
Do you get discriminated against? All the time
Did you vote for Obama? Of course
Why? Cause he is black
You do understand that that is discrimination don't you? Usually this was variations of it's about time it is our way or typical of a white person to say that.
What was the most important thing Obama did for you? Most common answer was to stop white police killing black people. (I thought it was Obamacare)
So it's ok for black people to kill black people or black people to kill white people or black people to kill white police officers? A couple told me to stick it at that point, others went on about it wouldn't happen if they didn't kill us in the first place. One cough went on about how they need to kill more white cops to make the point.
Change of topic, did you vote for Hillary? Of course
Why? Mostly got Trump is a pig or something like that
But why did you vote for Hilary, assuming that there other person wasn't Trump? Because she is a woman, to give women power or some variant of that.
And why do you think people vote for trump? Because they are racist sexist pigs.

Hmm. If that was the case, Trump should have won 100% of the popular vote.

When are people going to realize that discrimination is discrimination and stop trying to pretend that it only one way.

Never. We have that very issue in Australia. Not allowed to talk about it.
