I have just spent the last week and a half in the US and decided to ask a number of people I heard going on about Trump and some African American people the same couple of questions just to see their responses. They were basically all the same except some were more focused on the "black"people. Kind of went like this.
Do you get discriminated against? All the time
Did you vote for Obama? Of course
Why? Cause he is black
You do understand that that is discrimination don't you? Usually this was variations of it's about time it is our way or typical of a white person to say that.
What was the most important thing Obama did for you? Most common answer was to stop white police killing black people. (I thought it was Obamacare)
So it's ok for black people to kill black people or black people to kill white people or black people to kill white police officers? A couple told me to stick it at that point, others went on about it wouldn't happen if they didn't kill us in the first place. One cough went on about how they need to kill more white cops to make the point.
Change of topic, did you vote for Hillary? Of course
Why? Mostly got Trump is a pig or something like that
But why did you vote for Hilary, assuming that there other person wasn't Trump? Because she is a woman, to give women power or some variant of that.
And why do you think people vote for trump? Because they are racist sexist pigs.
Hmm. If that was the case, Trump should have won 100% of the popular vote.
When are people going to realize that discrimination is discrimination and stop trying to pretend that it only one way.
