You do realise Trump has on multiple occasions encouraged violence at his rallies which has helped further divide USA.

Ahhh... there is the ignorance we have come to love. I think it is pretty obvious who is DOING all the violence. Wait.. never let the facts get in the way of a good story.. except if that story disagrees with your personal view and then you can bury it.

Despite Trump bragging, he has signed no major laws in 5 months.

I've helped pass and signed 38 Legislative Bills, mostly with no Democratic support, and gotten rid of massive amounts of regulations. Nice!

Measuring laws passed by counting rather than by significance is pretty meaningless. More on that in a bit. But by way of recent historical comparison, Presidents Jimmy Carter (52), George H.W. Bush (41) and Clinton (41) had all signed more bills into law than President Trump by this point in their presidencies.
So, what has Trump accomplished with Congress so far? Nothing that political scientists would categorize as major pieces of legislation. We looked at this question as President Trump hit his 100 days mark. This story contains more detail on legislation he signed in the early part of his presidency.

Trump admits he doesn't have any Comey Tapes.

[h=1]Donald Trump kicks own goal after admitting he doesn't have James Comey recordings[/h]
As far as self-inflicted wounds go, this one's a doozy.
After weeks of speculation, Donald Trump has declared he doesn't have tapes of his conversations with ex-FBI director James Comey.
It was Mr Trump who, on Twitter, first raised the prospect that recordings might exist.

Donald Trump appears to confirm he is under investigation over firing of FBI chief James Comey - Donald Trump's America - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

You do realise that under the US Constitution the President has the right to fire an FBI chief?
Bill Clinton did it as well.
So just what is being investigated? You cant be guilty of obstructing justice for doing what you are legally entitled to do.

What's the legal position of Pres now undermining the special prosecutor? Why a surprise he's calling him biased. ;) Wonder if he'll pull this off too.

Oh yes you can! You very well might do something that is legal but obstructs the course of justice. These two do not have a one to one relationship.

By the way, why people seem to always defend Trump by referring to previous administrations? Can this guy not do anything defendable on its own right??

Trump has acheived the impossible.
He has made everyone a constitutional lawyer without even the need to study law.

Though you now need to say how he has obstructed the course of justice.
All my info comes from the recent appearance of director Comey and his testimony under oath-anyone can find it.
He also agreed under oath that-
The President has the right to direct the FBI to start or terminate an investigation.
That President Trump was not under investigation.
That President Trump offered to help the investigation into any links to Russia of his campaign organisation.

Of course you have not read that in the MSM.

Let's not change the subject (ever so slightly). You claimed "You cant be guilty of obstructing justice for doing what you are legally entitled to do." And I replied this is definitely not correct as there is no one-to-one relationship between the two. If you agree with this, we can move on to discuss specifics...

Well I thought this thread was about the 2016 presidential election and you replied to my post about President Trump sacking Director Comey.

Yes, but you had tried to generalised the issue by referring to the US constitution and deduced that it legitimately allowed (the) president to obstruct the course of justice as there was provision in the constitution for him/her to sack any public servant, including the director of FBI. I was making the point that you seemed to connect two vaguely related items and deducing something that is not correct.

Read post 1067 again that you quoted.I did not deduce anything.Director Comey said it under oath.

It's a huge leap of faith from what you said in post 1067 to what you were implying in 1063. I acknowledge you do not wish to go back over your reasoning with a fresh (unbiased) eye, and that is just fine. Let's agree to disagree.

As I said in post 1067 All my info came from Director Comey's evidence including what I said in post 1063 apart from the Bill Clinton bit.

Yes you can.
You can do a proper thing for an improper purpose.
This is law which is so settled as to be trite.
As any lawyer would know.
Trump has said he sacked Comey to stop the investigation into Russian influence on the election.
That's a confession.

It is clear. The right in America has a long history of political violence.
Witness Timothy McVeigh.
The GOP supports unrestricted access to guns which is simply insane by international standards.
Trump exhorted his supporters to kill Hillary Clinton.
The picture is clear, even a homophobe should be able to see that.

Though Comey under oath said he didn't try to stop that investigation rather offered to help.

By the look of it Trump completely misjudged the man. After Comey's announcement that the Clinton case had new legs, just days before the election, and arguably a factor that pushed Trump over the line, Trump thought that Comey was on his side.

He asked Comey to ease up on Flynn, along with other improper requests. The sort of things done behind closed doors without witnesses.

When Comey didn't comply, Trump fired him. In the most visibly humiliating way possible. Par for the course there.

I think that Trump has misjudged a lot of things, and that he has honourable and honest people effectively working for him in positions of power is a new experience for him.

The appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller to investigate the Russian thing is obviously something that is going to be a major headache for Trump. Considering that Mueller has hired some top criminal investigators and prosecutors it seems pretty clear that a full accounting is heading Trump's way.

I don't think that Trump will be able to withstand this.

The question is, what will he do?

As an aside in the US at the moment and are noticing that people are grumpy post Trump. The industries that rely on tips seem disinterested in smiling, no one I have met seems interested in chatting and its quite a horrible place to be in frankly. Been here many times and never experienced this.

Problem is only a certain percentage of US citizens voted in the elections. Those most affected by the stupidity and lies of Trump didn't vote. When Trump gets deposed he will be replaced by probably a worse corporate politician.

I just call it the "States of America" nowadays.
