The days of inspirational leaders are long gone. All very insipid these days.
In Australia, anyway. US still manage it. Trump certainly inspires passion - love him or hate him, and in the Dems, Sanders certainly oozes authenticity (although he will never get a chance to go up against Trump). Even NZ throws up Arden, at least you feel she stands for something.
You could put Shorten in charge of LNP coalition with LNP policies and Morrison in charge of ALP with ALP policies and I don't think anyone would notice the difference.
