I've bitten the bullet and booked a car plus all the self catering accommodation I could find for a much needed week away in April, a day after things start to open up. That first day is reserved for a haircut! Been in lockdown since December so looking forward to getting out of the house and a supermarket not being the highlight of my week 😁
Good on you @Flashback , and I really hope you have a lovely get away and enjoy the pampering of a haircut after all this time!

The Seat children are now into their 30s and since they were about 25 or so were very happy to join an overseas holiday with their parents, especially if we sweetened it with points tickets or paid for accommodation. It's a delight to travel with your adult children, so I wish this for you when your little one moves past her 18th towards the more mature years of young adulthood.

Oh don't get me wrong, both my sister and I still enjoy travelling with our parents, and we're in our 30's. Lady Lenny and I also take her parents on a trip every year - road trip usually but still enjoyable. What I meant to say was we will gladly pay for her full travel costs (minus spending money as she gets older) for those big trips. Let's be honest here too, we'll very probably pay for most of the costs if she wants to come with us after she's 18 as well, but that will be a conversation for future Lenny :D

As long as she gets the bug we'll be happy to have her along haha

Ok so we still have trips to UK for late Nov 2021. Just curious if anyone has started to book hotels ,just in case they actually go ?
We will base ourselves near St Pancras as usual for the two or so weeks we are away. Just pondering watching for deals to book ....or not

Travel here domestically is picking up so bargains are starting to disappear...

Borders slamming shut again is another reminder of why tomorrow I'm flying to PQQ and not anywhere out of NSW. First time flying since August of 2019...

Cancelled the CNS trip tomorrow as I never want to get stuck in FNQ😂
Will take the caravan to HVB for 10 days instead, flying back to BNE for a couple of days work. Fingers crossed we don’t get stuck in BNE with the van stranded in HVB.
A few trips to visit friends in Sydney and Adelaide, and the final KISS concert at Queensland Country Bank Stadium. I prefer to visit TSV for concerts (like Elton John in March last year), as its an easy walk back to mums place after the shows.

Just booked AKL-SYD-BNE-SYD-AKL for first week of travel bubble. Cannot believe how excited I am about the short trip over to Australia but that's the times we live in. Greek Island cruise in October got canceled coincidentally a day after the travel bubble announcement (yesterday, that is) but I had pretty much given up hope on that anyway.

Now I am hoping that Singapore might join our bubble before the end of the year. Otherwise, it will be WA for Christmas and New Years, something we had originally booked for the year prior. And then definitely Europe in 2022, provided that will be possible (both my parents got vaccinated by now so I am having my hopes up to see them alive still  ).

I'm looking at booking a NZ trip for next month. Weirdly part of me hesitates thinking it's all going to get pulled away at the last minute so why bother.

WA for Christmas/NY? Couldn't think of anything worse.

Of course I slightly jest, I am hoping to do the same. It's been a very long time since Mrs FB and I last saw my family, nieces and nephews.

We’re starting 2021 back up at Port Douglas for five nights where we’ll see in the new year.

Late March we’re off to Tassie and our first motorhome holiday. 11 nights. It’s changed from free style and staying in National Parks to having every night booked at a powered site (and one lodge night). Wusses! Coles Bay - Launceston - Cradle Mountain - Strahan - Pedder Wilderness Lodge - Cygnet (Fat Pig Farm feast) - Bruny Island.

July and we fly to Broome. We have a couple of nights in an Airbnb before joining our 15 day Intrepid Broome to Darwin overland. Going with my sister who like us had a credit from our cancelled Botswana overland. Amazingly they have just four seats left on just the first of this tour next year. The rest are all sold out.

Now we also need to book another weekend away, maybe October long weekend, to get that status rolled over.
Our jaunts continue...

Anzac weekend we're flying north to TSV for a a couple of nights on Magnetic Island, my first trip there.

Weekend after we're flying south to Sydney for a couple of nights at the Intercontinental.

This morning we booked another longer weekend in October, north again to CNS. Deciding on Palm Cove or Port Douglas.

Sadly we have decided to cancel our , rewards seats, flight to UK in Nov for a two week holiday
We will have a relatively new grandbaby that will be having their first Xmas. Our dates returning would have meant , if quarantined , we would not have been able to visit for Xmas day.
Nope didn't even think of covid quarantine still being an issue for the end of the year at the time of booking.
The funny part is working this out was triggered by looking for hotels for our holiday.
Anyhoo... hopefully some international flights for us in 2022

2021 international travel from Australia is looking doubtful outside NZ and possible other bubbles.

I am planning a Turkey and Central Asia trip May 2022 and just hoping borders have come down by then.

Let's be optimistic. We will see you in Perth over Christmas as we are arriving on the Indian Pacific on Christmas day.

Let's hope it all lines up!

The first step is done....... we're onto step 2 now, with lockdowns slowly starting to life, I've had a haircut now so that's a good first step ;)

See you in a few quarters!
