2025 F1 Thread

Alpine have announced that Colapinto will be their reserve driver for the 2025 season. Williams have temporarily released him for this position, but he still has a multi year contact with them.
This puts pressure on Doohan who’s pairing up with Gasly as the Alpines drivers, with a rumour that the Australian has the first six races to prove his worthiness for the seat.

The teams have shown a lot less reluctance of late to let a poor performing driver go the full season. I am sure that is now being written into contacts across the board.

Whilst I would like to see a driver given a chance, the amount of money at stake, and the number of young drivers knocking on the door has pretty much seen those days gone.

Definitely the pressure will be on Jack. You just have to hope he gets to grips with the car and speeds quickly.

But in his last three seasons in F2/F3 he dominated team mates and definitely wasn't driving the quickest car on the grid.

Best chance of staying around is to put the pressure on Gasly.

OMG - He looks so cool!!

Useless factoid -: HAM’s all time favourite supercar was on hand (i.e. Ferrari F40) for the shoot. HAM has also just turned 40. Coincidence that all these things came together for his first official Ferrari photo? 🤔

PS> HAM has awesome taste in Supercars. I’d sell my soul for an F40 🤤

PPS> Someone just crashed NOR’s F40 the other day :eek:o_O

No doubt those following the pre-season heard the news that HAM crashed the SF-23 in the final sector at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya during his 2nd test outing. Whilst not ideal there is one interesting bit of history that springs to mind…

HAM has crashed his car in pre-season testing in his inaugural year racing for a new team (in F1). In 2007, he crashed his McLaren. In 2013, he crashed his Mercedes. We all know what happened 12 months later when racing for both of those teams. Perhaps bodes well for 2026 at Ferrari 🤔

You might have seen the same image/post I saw on FB ;)

Very unlikely I'd say.

Good to see an Australian company getting involved in the sport
Aussies have also been involved with Ferrari for a couple of years already...

I'm starting to worry about watching the races on KAYO from SKY this season. With Hamilton, Norris and Russell now all the #1 drivers for three of the top 4 teams, the commentary will be more biased than ever with other teams and drivers lucky to get a look in. It will be hard enough trying to get to know all the new, young drivers coming through without the SKY guys prattling on about every little aspect of the UK drivers performance.

Sky always talks about the Brits, whether they were first or last.
Add Bearman to that list now as well.

I'm more worried about another price jump from Kayo.

My old subscription was running out, started new one then they keep trying to charge me for the expired one...yes legally they are allowed to, but a 12 month deal should stop after 12 months.
Now Hubbl has taken over is a PITA to get some sense from them.
