I thought that also applied to the plainer named Citibank Debit card. There's definitely a difference?

I don't know if there is a more basic account. I think its full name is the Citibank visa debit plus. We probably (not certain) are talking about the same account.

The Citibank Plus Visa Debit is the only one with no forex charges.

Depends on how being used. ING Direct doesn't have ForEx on ATM withdrawals however there is a minimal ATM charge.

Withdrew CAD 120 from my Citibank Plus at a TD Canada Trust ATM last week. Got a 0.951 conversion when the interbank rate was 0.960, so a 0.9% conversion penalty. That's actually the worst I have ever encountered. (No ATM fee though).

I put my application into citibank on 1 Dec. I've heard nothing. Time to chase?

Yep usually all done faster than that

Maybe even tax deductible too!

This really is "a purpose"

Re: 28° Mastercard Cash Advances while overseas [No more free cash advances from 1/1/

28 Degrees servers are down so don't bother ringing them for another 3 hours + or so from now. They can do nothing - so I hope you don't have an urgent request.

Re: 28° Mastercard Cash Advances while overseas [No more free cash advances from 1/1/

Had heaps of dramas with their website last 2 weeks while away from home.
Incorrect username password error - calls to them reset password etc with them telling me they had server problems.
Anyway using an Android tablet I downloaded Firefox browser and used it instead of the one that came with the tablet and this seems to have fixed the problem??
Something to try for those having similar problems

LOL. At work 28 degrees website no longer works on Firefox. Have to log onto the website using Google Chrome.

When in Europe last year on my Android phone, I had to use one browser for 28 Degree Master card because the others wouldn't work, another browser for accessing my Citibank Plus account (which I only ever got to work in a roundabout way, rather than directly), and I had to use the ANZ app, because no browser would access my account.

Which was all pretty strange, as on my previous trip two years before, all my banking and card sites were easily accessed using my Opera Browser.

Renato

JohnK - Mine is the opposite (sorta). The spinny wheel refuses to stop when in Chrome, making it unuseable in Chrome. So I have to use Safari. Weird.

Oh and for some reason I cannot log onto Citibank account on the Android phone. Don't need to do it often but occasionally need to check when I am overseas.

Also have problems making payments from Netbank but I did find a workaround.

When I used to package some Paradox applications in the 90's made sure it worked in all environments. Think it was the old Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and Windows NT.

I couldn't log onto Citibank either, using the normal login screen that I use on my laptop browser, which had been synced to my Android phone. So, in the Android phone I then went to the Home Screen, then tapped the Mobile tab, and then I was able to log on.

Why all these companies now stop one's moblie phone from acting like a laptop (which they can easily do, and used to do), I do not know.

Renato

I looked at 28° online but I can't find where you can tell them you are travelling. Tried ringing them, and all the servers were down. So is ringing the only way to do it?

In the Questions section in the Customer Service section on the 28* website, way down near the bottom of the list of questions, there's one about overseas travel. The answer given is to call in.
So I guess that's what they want you to do.
Personally I'd prefer a simple online form (in the secure section after log in) to give them the details...

And yet again their website is down. Lots of complaints on FB.

I have charge of $28.80 that has been withdrawn from my cash account to pay GE Money in the past week even though I have not used the card. Anyone else have a 'phantom' payment?
