That's impressive, very impressive.
Definitely deserving of LTWP level.

Far out! Hoping to make LTG in next 4 years so you're in a different league from me!
Are you flying SYD-LHR F class every month?

I've been flying with QF since September 2001 following the demise of Ansett. Prior to this I was Ansett and Star Alliance. Between 2001 - 2006 the majority of my travel was domestic doing 3-4 sectors per week between Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Canberra in Y. From 2006 - 2010 I ran a start up company with a bunch of Asia, EMEA and Amercas travel (again all in Y). My company was acquired in early 2011 and for the last 2+ years I've been working with the acquirer (a large multi-national US East Coast based company) in a world wide role requiring travel to EMEA, Middle East, Asia, North America, Latin America. I'm very fortunate that anything over 9+ hrs outside of APJ is in J. Over the last 2-3 years my annual SC's have accelerated to 11,000 SC's per year. Prior to that I averaged only 3,500-6,000 SC's per year in Y. Where possible the majority of travel is done on QF metal or using One World Airlines.
3500-6000 SC per year in whY is insane, you must have a very numb bum.
Thats a MEL/SYD/MEL in flexi Y every 2.2 days per year, then do it each year for 5 years.
I would hope that you have been given CL
Wow - not sure if we should congratulate or commiserate! I thought we were doing well as a family to clock over 35,000 status credit, but to get to over 60,000 on your own is amazing . Our travel is entirely holiday - I suspect yours is much more productive.Just received my latest QF Frequent Flyer Activity Statement: Current Lifetime Status Credits: 60,981.

... nine hundred and eighty-ONE...? Was this a result of some old method/system prior to the current SC regime?

The irony of having earnt that many SCs (and presumably have million of points) is that the last thing you probably feel like doing when you have time off is redeeming points to get back on a QF plane to take a holiday!
I absolutely understand where you're coming from. I also managed to use points for four RTW J tickets for my long service leave last year - it was the trip of a lifetime for the whole family. The problem is that now, my wife and kids want to do it all again!Travelling away 200+ nights per year you miss a lot of anniversary's and birthdays. This creates a huge gap in your family's life that can never be filled. Instead of being invited to attend Football Matches, coughtails Party's which takes me away from your family even more the only thing I ask from Qantas is that I be able to use the points I accrue on dates and flights I want in the class I want. Last Xmas / New Year I was lucky enough to blow a large number of points on getting the family (2 Adult + 3 Childten) from SYD-DFW, MIA-LHR-SYD in J. My wife and 2 of the children experienced F for the LHR-SIN-SYD sector. So getting on flights using points and taking the family on a special holiday is a good feeling. My kids understand that travelling away from home is not what its cracked up to be but it does have its benefits on special ocassions.
When "Tier Credits" were introduced from 1st September 1998, aside from numbers which are multiples of 5 you could earn 8 and 12 TC's for some shorter flights in discount economy. So a number endin in 1 was quite feasible (e.g. 8 + 8 + 15). I have included below a scan of a page from an old QFF magazine.
When "Status Credits" were introduced around the turn of the century (IIRC), replacing TC's they could only be earned in multiples of 10. (MEL-SYD and MEL-BNE both earned 10 C's in discount Economy). I had an "odd" five SC's hanging around until the zones were refined in May 2005.
PS, just had a look at my last statement - now over 25K ...
I did a caldulation of the SC's I will earn from my currently planned trips in May - I will get 530 SC (and 101,000 miles), which incedentally will push me up to 3340 SC for my year (which ends at the end of May) - the closest I have ever got to P1 - perhaps they'll comp me .I am a few months behind Jobu at 27,798 - should hit 28k in next month - unfortunately for me, since Oct08, all my flying has been Discount-Y (mainly Intl) which has got to be the hardest way to achieve status (only getting full SC on full Y fares for Intl flights).

I really have no expectation that I'll get comped P1... had P1 existed pre 2008, I would have made it a few years running, but not since...Good luck - i was 40 SCs away from P1 the year it came in, and no comp, even after i emailed and rang. My justification was that they didn't announce the benefits of P1 when they announced it's introduction, so why bust myself to get there?
