Flight was at 10:30am so we caught a taxi at 7am to the airport. Upon arriving at Terminal 3 First class check in area, the gentlemen assisted with our luggages. He's an old chap but is still strong (of course we assisted him with our luggage - respect the elder)

Entrance to the check in area
01482902829.jpg
Impressed with the check in area - spacious and inviting with lots of seating
01482902852.jpg
Seated while being checked in
01482902865.jpg
Love the orchids and they are all over the place
01482902889.jpg

Boarding passes and personalised TPR invites were presented to us
01482903206.jpg
There is a dedicated first class immigration desk and we were through in no time.
Make our way to the lounge
01482903480.jpg
To get to the TPR lounge, you first need to go through the Business class lounge
01482903256.jpg
followed by the First class lounge
01482903287.jpg
and you're there - generally escorted through from the entrance of the lounge

The golden ticket was taken at the reception but was returned after requesting to keep it as a souvenir. People generally ask to keep it as a souvenir so not sure why they don't make it as a blanket rule. You can't reuse it given your name was written on it (in GOLD)

Had a wander through first class lounge
01482904286.jpg
and saw this gem currently being poured in the first class lounge. They had the Charles Heidsieck in TPR
01482904308.jpg
The business class lounge with their display
01482904416.jpg
and the buffet
01482904466.jpg
Headed back to TPR and ordered the steam glutinous rice and a glass of PH Rare
01482904518.jpg
Yet another epic fail for planning on having liquid diet this morning
Cruiser Elite was in the lounge but didn't get the chance to say hello in person (late checking messages and got pulled out to duty free)

Our flight this morning is again the A380, waiting patiently for us

To get to the boarding gate, you'll have to go through the security screening. There isn't any premium line again (first world problem) and the queue was extremely long.
We were escorted to our seat 2C and 2D. The decoration onboard

Won't say no to a champagne
01482905912.jpg
Amenity kits featuring Ferragamo men kit, pyjamas, slippers, socks and eye mask
01482905953.jpg
Ferragamo kit - the bag looked different to the one I previously seen. Much prefer the older one for easy content access
01482906041.jpg

Menu was distributed - drinks were pretty much the same as the previous flight
Pre-selected option
01482906159.jpg
Appetiser, soup and salad
01482906219.jpg
Main, dessert and cheese
01482906261.jpg
Bread, praline and coffee

Refreshments
01482906328.jpg
We had preselected our meals through Book the Cook. +1 ordered from the deliciously wholesome
Menu while I went with the Japanese Kyo-Kaiseki

We requested our meal to be served 2 hours after take off. Time flies when you are having fun
01482915295.jpg
and our table has been set up in an empty suite.
Order was taken and the attendant was puzzled when I asked for a caviar as well. Little do I know that the kaiseki comes in 4 courses and I still went for it :p
First course, caviar
01482915340.jpg
No salad or bread roll ordered as there will be plenty of food.
My first course of kaiseki while +1 had a soup (in the background). Not entirely sure what it was but it was delicious (cold appetiser). Soup in the bowl.
01482915390.jpg
+1 cabbage roll with egg plant and beancurd with noodle and black ear mushroom
01482915481.jpg
My second course. Soba noodle with a mixture of sushi and dipping sauce
01482915657.jpg

Third course (told myself I could finish this) - orange crispy chicken served with rice
01482915932.jpg
Dessert for +1 - bourbon vanilla savarin
01482915993.jpg
Forth course (finally) - not a cake but layered apple served with a lemon sorbet. Not a fan of this course. Find the apple layering to hard to cut into. Had to eat them slice by slice
01482916051.jpg
I'm dominated at this point and I didn't think I could finished them all.
A walk is indeed needed.Staircase heading up to the business class cabin
01482916236.jpg
This is a 4 class cabin so business class occupied the entire upper deck

The CSM saw us touring the cabin and asked if someone showed us around. When we say no, he took us to the cabin resting area, located below of the lower deck
01482916471.jpg
One would that that this is just another storage nook but it's a doorway to a cabin unknown to most

Walking past PE cabin
01482916566.jpg
and back to our seat, turned into double bed
01482916599.jpg
Appearing yet again was another set of teddies
01482916621.jpg
Watched a movie or two and refreshment is served. I declined and requested a blue mountain coffee. Strong but well balanced.

Not long after we arrived into Melbourne airport. We bid farewell to a great crew and wishes the CSM well as he will be retiring in a couple of months. He's been with the airline for 35yrs
It was a farewell for us as well since we are ending an epic journey travelling around the world, across 3 continents, visited 6 countries in just over 3 weeks, all in F.
+1 had never travelled past Y cabin and his first ever premium cabin was on this trip. Think he is now spoilt for the rest of his life :p

My first ever trip report and I think i went on a little too detailed. Takes a bit to write it all up but is worth it. Still gives me giggle when i read what i wrote.
Maybe my next one will be.....photo heavy :p

I loved that you detailed the food and booze. Yes, I guess when writing this you re-lived your journey. I always write a diary when I travel, as I tend to forget the little details and when I read it a few years later, I am amazed by what I wrote...haha

Thanks for the trip report. Having written a few, they always take a lot more effort than you expect.
Wanderlust is a great little hotel in Singapore. I have stayed there a few times. We usually fly SQ and stop over in SIN so you have provided a few good food tips for me. :)

Boutique hotel like Wanderlust may seem a little out of the norm but it has a lot of characters chained hotels do not have. Definitely trying more design hotels where I can. Love love love the hawker food in SQ. Glad I could offer a few pointers :)

Thanks for the TR.I appreciated the extra info.It has finally pushed me into trying the SQ suites though it will be in 12 months.First have to wait for the Amex points to appear in my Krisflyer account.
