Card Promotions 30K Bonus Velocity Points or 250 Status Credits or $200 Coles Voucher with New Credit Card

Virgin Money Flyer (and High Flyer if you want to pay a higher annual fee) gives 100k pts.
That’s what this is for, but with another 30k points on top, so 130k points, pretty good! Pity I signed up to the 100k offer in December, so can’t take this up.

Unfortunately I am in the same boat, but I am going to activate it anyway as the last two lots of 25,000 points may trigger the offer. Keen to hear from people's experience from the previous offer in 2022. Virgin cards provide the bonus spread across the first four months, and wonder whether others have been successful in activating the bonus offer within the first four months during the 2022 offer.

It's worth noting that in last year's offer in April, I had already applied for and (I believe) had already been approved for a virgin card prior to signing up for the promotion. It was a virgin money card with bonus points given over three or four months. On the first month of the bonus point earn I had the velocity promotion points also given.

According to the terms and conditions, I was not eligible for the bonus points however they were credited to me as part of the promotion. Might be some lessons learnt from them from the last promotion but I definitely was not eligible and still had points given.

My partner just signed up for a new credit card and had it approved only on Friday, so hopefully, it's still broken and the status credits will be family pooled which will bring me back up to platinum.

Just saw your question. Posting a reply hoping it will send you a notification. See my post above, not exactly the same boat in terms of timeline of applying, but I believe it still answers your questions on when points are credited :)

Noob question - does the status credits expire after 12 months from date of earning even if i get few more credits before the original ones expiry ?

With Family Pooling active (account getting the new card transfers everything to another), I would expect that when choosing the status credits these go to the linked as account as everything else does. Would you think that is a fair assumption?

I have a credit card already, but my partner just got rid of one so goo opportunity for a new one.

Yes. And I'm thinking the same, whether it's worth for trying to maintain VA gold in case of any upcoming UA or SQ travel.

Has anyone actually received an email after choosing their offer? both me and my wife selected the offer early in the week and still yet to received an email. Last thing want to do is apply for a card and not get the bonus 30,000 points. I did read in various threads that people have been successful in the bonus without receiving the confirmation email but not sure wanted to take the risk

I didn't get an email yet (registered yesterday). When you go to the promo page again it says something like "we'll be in touch with an email soon".
I make it a habit anyways to make a screenshot for activated offers, with date & time visible to at least have something.

Regarding family pooling for the status credits, the T&C actually even mention this, surprised. So yes they will go to the linked account.

With the credit card application, did anyone do and finalised it? I've had it now a couple times that in the last step I cannot submit the application, nothing happens when clicking on the button. Saving works.
Done with Firefox and Edge. Also called them once and the agent said there is an error in it and I'll have to start new.
Basic flaw in the webpage / process?

I activated my offer one week ago, still no email. Seems a bit disingenuous to say, "Now, it's time to choose your credit card with an annual fee", when to do so without receiving the email would be to potentially forfeit your benefit (by not following the T&Cs).Screenshot from 2023-02-20 08-12-58.png

That would be extremely detrimental to their Business to not honor or screw up these offers. And as there is some sort of logic implemented to show the choice after entering it they have put some thoughts into that as well.
It'll be honored. I only had 2 cases of issues I think with promotions, and after explaining / digging out the background it then got solved (Virgin better than Qantas though).
Keep a screenshot for safety.

I'll also get to Platinum on DSCs, but 250 status credits will help with re-qualifying for next year.
Most of the offers require you to complete the minimum spend amount within 3 months.
What is DSC's?

those SCs look good.

Between the 250 SC, and 120 SC from flybuys (x2 if you have family pooling) you're close plat renewal without even flying

I don't need the SC's before this promo ends, but will need them early next year. I wonder if they'll do the SC promo again?
Hey how do I get 120 SC from flybuys? thanks

link your flybuys and velocity accounts, and spend $1000 per month at Coles / Liquorland / bunnings / etc. You get 1 SC per $100 spent (max 10SC per month), so can be 120SC total

Re-reading the terms and conditions, it's not 100% clear if you need to apply for the card before 31 March, or if you just need to choose which benefit.

To be eligible to receive the choice of 30,000 bonus Velocity Points, 250 Status Credits or $200 Coles Gift Card (each an ‘Exclusive Benefit’), you must (a) be a Velocity Frequent Flyer member, (b) make your selection of the Exclusive Benefit by visiting here between 12:01am (AEST) 13 February 2023 and 11:59pm (AEST) 31 March 2023 (prior to the card application) and receive a confirmation email to the nominated email address in your Velocity Frequent Flyer account, (c) after receipt of the confirmation email, successfully apply for any card featured on the Velocity Points Earning Credit Card page that has an annual card fee (the American Express Velocity Escape Card is not eligible for this promotion), and (d) meet the minimum spend criteria for the eligible offer associated with the individual card if the application is successful.

It only says you need to choose the benefit before 31 march. And some of the cards on the page have different timeframes e.g. Westpac :

20Bonus Velocity Points Promotion Altitude Platinum: To qualify for this promotion you must apply and be approved for a new Altitude Velocity Platinum card between 6 December 2022 - 29 June 2023

I wonder if I applied after 31 March if it would still be honoured? Anyone have any suggestions on how to find out?

Just got the confirmation email. I applied to the cc prior to that. Hopefully there won't be any drama
