I hope the A380 continues to live a long time as I love its quietness and spaciousness and with (so far) only 10 across seating in Y, it make it a much more tolerable experience than the 10 across seating of that most airlines are opting for in their 787 and 777's.
However did I read somewhere that some airlines were looking at 11 across, and have any tried it?

Air Austral ordered 2 then cancelled.
Transaero ordered 10 and went bankrupt.

Haven't EK already said they won't be installing the 11 abreast Y on their remaining orders also?

Yes thats when Airbus offered them the A80 Plus with extended winglets and altered stair case and 11 abreast seating.
