My family of 5 and family pooling has made this great for me also. Only hassle is that I entered the incorrect birthdates for two of my children and wife when signing up to velocity years ago ..phone call to fix up.

I have signed myself up but have been reading other posts here about signing up the family. I am obviously a little new to all of this. How is this achieved? Does each of my family members need to have a Velicity membership and have each of these linked to my Velocity account? I then sign each of them up to KrisFlyer, convert their points to Velocity and wait for them to hit my Velicity account? Or am I just way off.....

I checked it all out myself. Signed up the wife and kids to Velocity, family pooled and then signed them up to KrisFlyer. That was an easy 18,500 points (I hope).

I have a feeling that SQ will simply raise the minimum from 5000 to 10000 for transfer to VA if this is abused. After all, they don't mind all your family signed up, that's the purpose, they want as many people to get in and fly with them. But if everyone is transferring points to VA, they will stop it.

Before everyone get too excited and start converting all to VA, I just checked with my CC (altitude black) company, they said I can transfer my altitude points to my family's KF account. So I can still top up each account and make the 5000 miles useful without losing the 35% conversion fee.

If you read the Velocity definition of who can be family it's quite wide already without considering pets!!
