54 Days on the Moon

La Terraza for dinner tonight. Their menu really only has minor changes throughout the cruise. As always an antipasti platter served first.

Italian wines are always offered and this was the red for the night.

Mrsdrron started with the carpaccio and I had their vegetable soup. Always a favourite.

The chicken dish was no different from that served in most pubs in Australia.
For desserts Mrsdrron had coconut ice cream. I had a plate of Gorgonzola. Both of those had to be sourced downstairs but that was no problem. I really love Italian gorgonzola.

We had been here 6 months ago so decided togo ashore and just wander the old town. A good decision as we found many parts we hadn't been to before. First a tiny Noble Caledonia ship had pinched our place at the pier so it wasatender to shore.

Then we visited the market.

Mrsdrron was now getting tired and went back to the ship. I wanted a local lunch so headed back into the old town. Now I had picked out a restaurant for further consideration but do think I could find it? Not a chance. Went into a church that we didn't see previousy.

I originally ordered fried sardines to start but they were unavailable so I settled for the marinated Anchovies.
DSC09392.JPG.591a5e6443e530f91ab38eb422a97e2b.JPG
They were absolutely delicious and cost 8 euros. In Dubrovnik the next day for the exact same size dish the cheapest price was 18.5 euros.
I then had the mussels. They weren't the greatest mussels as they were small but it was sold by weight and was 13 euros for 800 gms. Most of the other restaurants were the same price for 500 gms.

Ended up with 106 mussels. Also a basket of bread for 1 euro.

And a 250 ml bottle of the dearest Montenegran wine was 6 euros.

Service was excellent.

The view of the laneway.

And if you do want to find it if you come in the main gate walk across the Square and if you see this sign turn left. The lane does take a couple of turns.

Now I did mention there are a lot of cats. Eating seafood naturally attracted them. In the pecking order this was the lowest.

Notice the cork. all 3 cats attracted had a lot of fun playing with it.
The number 2 cat tried a different tack. This was my seat.

And here it is playing.

But they both deferred to this cat.
DSC09394.JPG.adbf7d2aa8ec4b29b986c1b19c16b83a.JPG

However it was the smartest and quickly knew I wasn't a cat lover. The most adventurous turned out to be the white cat who stood on his hind legs with his paws on the table longingly looking at the fish. It was out of luck.
