91 reasons to fly with us

Online checkin, tapping the pole, q-tags, etc are all well and good if you're only flying domestic.

Even with carry on, I still need to queue and get a boarding pass for all my flights as I'm always heading OS.

No real difference to me except the queues are maybe slightly shorter.

All well and good, but most people will be flying domesticity where all that good stuff works and as you say you are benefiting as the queues for the desks are shorter.

As normal the only organisation benefiting from Qantas' changes is the advertising and marketing mob. Stop paying lip service Qantas and start improving the flying experience to a minimum same level your on-ground experience is.

Change #17
A coffee to get you going

They're boasting about having a Barista service in the J lounges in the AM. That's a bad thing (VA have them all day, and on weekends).

True… but I’ve often waited substantially longer for a beer because someone wanted a coffee in the afternoon and there’s only one staff member behind the counter.

Don't 91 (or 80 or 79 etc) reasons/changes just roll off the tongue and stay in your memory...

I think a fewer, more substantive ones might have achieved more...

I haven't read the page, but hopefully they are at least grouped into several high level ones?

As already noted, Qantas are 91 years old. In mid-November they can add a 92nd reason…

Yes but I can choose to wait. With QF, it's the god-awful press button machines or bust.

(and yes I know DJ do have the press button machines, but they're purely optional; i'll gladly queue for a few minutes to get a decent coffee vs a few seconds for the awful automated stuff).

I thought they had extended their barista hours to 2PM - in the J lounges at least? I don't drink coffee very often - OJ at the J lounge in the morning and a tipple of three in the afternoon (just to be polite of course)

Last I spoke to the Sydney Lounge manager it was 3pm in the J lounge, on weekdays only.

There's a few points there that I'd query.

Change #45: Exceptional Service Every Time - this certainly wasn't the case when the rude, unfriendly staff at the QP Sydney had a go at me for requesting a points upgrade on Sunday.

Change #47: Last minute upgrades - Check in staff and QP staff both advised they upgrades are "never available to PER from here - PER flights are very full all the time" - I had to insist for them to even bother checking.

I assume you emailed or contacted QF straight after this poor service.

If you had tried the same on Monday all would have been well. I believe the exceptional service every time wasn't due to start until 00:01 on Monday. :p
