Sadly....... Oprah was on a ski trip with the girls. benmay

Qantas has done a pretty good job though. This time tomorrow we will all be back on the plane to Sydney.

LindsayWilson and Markis10 have been my 2 favourite celebrities on this trip.

I'd never think such a trip was anything about mixing it with celebrities. Neil Perry excepted. ;) Rather the experience of seeing and doing things only a few people would get to do in their lives. That's what is worth it.

I don't think Lindsay, markis10 or I really are too fussed about the celebrity side of things.

I feel totally privileged to have been invited. Qantas have managed to put together a fantastic event.

I was quite shocked when I got my invite. Certainly was not expecting it. I am terrible at taking pictures and doing trip reports but it doesn't mean for a second that I have not appreciated the trip.

I thanked Alan and Simon from Qantas personally for the invite, and as I said. It was unexpected, but totally appreciated.

It's funny. You see the celebs and you think that a lot of what they say is just for the camera or audience. But I thought he spoke as a genuine person. A little rare in the celeb set. I guess I was taken with that. :)

You can blame Anna. She started it.

I think I was appropriately friendly with everyone. :)

I am a big fan of chefs. Most of my favourites are not famous at all. I agree with you that Neil does come across as very genuine. He is passionate about what he does and he always strives for improvement.

The thing is. With chefs. None of them start out famous. They pretty much all start at the bottom and work very hard for a long time before they reap much of a reward for their efforts.

I think this puts them in a diffrent league to some celebrities who find success quicker and easier because of their ability to run fast or act, sing etc. (not saying that every other celebrity has it easy. Many work very hard too. And a precious few remember where they came from)

So enjoy your love of NP.

Actually I disagree with you bossreggie. There are hundreds of extremely talented actors and singer (as there are talented chefs) who none of us will ever be aware of. Most of the time, "Celebs" with any cred whatsoever have spent most of their lives perfecting their craft (ie Cate Blanchett, Geoffery Rush, Hugo Weaving, Jackie Weaver, Claudia Carvan, Deb Mailman, Wayne Blair etc) in the same way that "Celeb" chefs have done. They receive recognition from the wider world once their craft becomes noticed, mostly after decades of very hard work. And they do remember where they come. I know this personally.

"Other Celebs" such as most of the ones on the QF flight to Dubai will be forgotten in less than 5 years from now. They mostly have no talent and just a face to tv and the social pages.

I think we are going to be stuck with Eddie for ever.

Cirqueboy.

I wasn't trying to be controversial with my post at all. I also acknowledged in it, that not every celeb has had it easy. There isn't a person on your list of celebs that have worked hard over many years that I could disagree with.

I guess I was more trying to agree with Pushka but maybe I went a long way around in trying to do so. ;)

Remember...... I do have a lot of time on my hands.

And in BR's defence we were talking about chefs at that time. Not that he needs any help from me. :).

Looking forward to hearing about the last evening. Sadly not much on the media about this trip.

I agree with you and bossreggie. NP was passionate about food, and his relationship with QF. As I subsequently found out when I met one of the Lounge consultants on a flight.

I also like that he can put interesting but simple recipes in the magazine. I still like the red curry mince and rice when on the road!

Loving the reports guys and from you too BR. Sometimes your posts do come across a bit wrong and it's amusing when people jump up and down about them.. I find them funny. Would love to get stuck into the whiskey with you...

Hi Markis and LW

whilst you are in such good company can you question about ASA and suggested changes as of 10 April and either confirm changes are happening or kill off the rumor good and proper?

No worries.

I am really trying to make more of an effort NOT to get people to jump up and down. I'm just a fussy person who likes things exactly how I want. But I DO still appreciate the things I have in my life.

Happy to have a whisky with you some time.... As long as you can tolerate watching me add coke. ;)

Looks like a great trip and experience... Don't think that my VA plat card would've been much use though if I was there...

Enjoy the rest!

Hi Bossreggie

Whilst I do not have your means I do enjoy the fine life as and when I can :D Just wanted to say that being fussy or asking people to jump up and down is not a bad thing as long as it is not unreasonable. If a level of service is suggested or inferred then it should be met. It is not jumping up or down nor is it being fussy. It is simpley about meeting of expectations.

And please if I ever meet you DO NOT put coke into a good scotch or you will see Jumping up and Down in its worse form lol

Enjoy
