A little bit of moderation in Dubai.

It's extremely rare that I read a full 20+ thread start to finish...but I've just done that now. Great thread, and an amazing opportunity for two very deserving mods. :) Just a few weeks ago there were comments in the Rockpool lunch thread about how QF should give the mods something. Well, they delivered.

Great thread guys, thanks for all the pics. Looks like an amazing trip!

Burj Kalifa and fountains

And not too long ago it looked like this!

Cheers,
- Febs.

It seems the bird did get a wash!

No surprise that this TR has been a real forum shining draw point... close to 11k views and I suspect that is one of, if not the, fastest rate of views accumulated for any thread on AFF (at least in my time). :D

Probably doesn't help most of us have this on subscription and checking every time there is a new post, or some of us have a hot refresh button.

I think that may have been the flight ftom London. It was dark when we landed, but there was another Qantas A380 on the ground.

I did not get to read this thread over Easter long weekend due to another trip. Now I have just read it all in 1 hit, fantastic! Congratulations to Markis10, LW for getting the trip! Well deserved! Also great reports from BR as well!

Well our time here in Dubai is drawing to a close, the last few days have been packed with experiences that literally have altered my view on Dubai, but changing mindsets and having new experiences is what travel is all about!

We are soon hopping into a 4WD to have dinner with Neil Perry in the desert, and more than likely post dinner drinks on the 69th floor of the Marriott, hopefully with some of the Qantas team who have done so much work to make this trip run so smooth, I feel a tad sad that its over so soon. Both Lindsay and I have only posted a little of what we have, and some of it will not be posted (what happens on the road stays on the road) to protect those letting their hair down, we will get to posting more as soon as we can. Please be assured sleep has not been a priority!

One of the highlights of the trip has been meeting Bossreggie, it's been a pleasure like it always is to meet AFF members and I regret not meeting him earlier, until you meet someone in person you don't really know them, if your new to AFF or just a lurker, keep an eye on events, attending one will often make you richer for the experience.

Including the AMEX 5k MR for 5 tx? ;)

I arrived back to my room, with a great band "The Beautiful South" playinh on my iPod. That made me happy. :)

The 'Three Musketeers' have done a great job :D.

I'd be a little wary on that floor if I were you, boys...:p.

It's been a fantastic read...well done guys :D:D

Home from the function and looking for sleep, but before I do thought I would post this:

We had at least 20 minutes with Alan tonight in a very casual environment and the conversation was inspiring as well as being refreshing.

I think my night was made when I was invited to the Paris Airshow as a guest of Airbus and Qantas.

It was a bit weird though because Markis10 and Lindsay Wison were with me at the time.
