A Magic Carpet, er Ship ride to Arabia.

Chelsea Flower Show. After reading @drron report we decided to get to the Flower Show early. I'd bought the tickets months ago.
We started at 7.30am with a brisk walk to the tube. Only the locals were up and about.

We caught the first tube then realised we needed to exit and get on a connecting tube because appararently there are two Paddington stations. More on that later.

On the way we tried guessing who was going to the Flower show and we could follow then. We needed to get to Sloane Square station. At the interchange the station conmecting to Sloane was swamped. With women wearing floral dresses. Hmmm. I didn't get the memo. 🤭😂

Neednt have worried about directions after all. Sloane Square.

While it was busy it certainly wasn't crowded. Then. We walked straight through into the show and proceeded to the Show exhibits. Plenty of space and easy to see and take photos. It was about 8.45 am by now.

Being a glorious sunny day the colours were amazing. I'm not sure what we expected of the Show but it was far more than we realised.

Then we went into the main pavilion where the flower displays were which we stunning. And the cactus. 😉

Dame Edna would have been in her glory.

David Austen roses do very well in Australia, especially South Australia.

We came out of the pavilion, it was 10.30am and all of London had arrived. It was now packed. Not pleasant. Impossible to get to the front with 5-6 rows deep. We could have stayed but we lost the battle and came back to the apartment.

We stayed for just a few hours and really enjoyed it. We didn’t eat the lunch as we don’t eat big lunches so that wasn’t an issue and we left around 11.30am as the crowd surge hit. We could have stayed longer but maybe leaving before break point hits is better. I’m really glad we saw it and don’t regret it.

We have said goodbye to son and working our way back to Oz via Amsterdam on KLM to KL then MH to Adelaide a couple of days later. Next time we see him will be Christmas. And cold.

We did the obligatory Hyde Park walk which was actually warm. So many boats out.

Today we took the Heathrow express back to umm, Heathrow T4. Plaza Premium lounge which was ok. We boarded but were told we would be delayed an extra hour. Our 2.5 window was disappearing. In any event it was a great flight and excellent crew. A lot of fun. Good meal for a 45 minute flight. Cute package.

Lot of space compared with BA. This bag being in the bulkhead was secured by crew with seatbelt.
