Reports on FT that this extends to basic spirits, 'house' wine and Bud light:shock:

Oh... I see...

Man, they're so tight for a company sitting on what's rumoured to be about US$3B cash!

And that's why they're sitting on so much cash... because they're so tight with it! Same goes in business, those that seem to have the most... funnily enough spend the least

SFO Admiral's club yesterday (Tuesday 5th, US time) - no chits offered when I arrived.
Again, it was a tad too early for alcohol for me (start of my mini SC run, leg 1) and I was flying SFO-LAX-SEA and getting into SEA at 10pm, and an early enough morning today.

O/T
Others may already know this, but I was able to get from T4 to T3 directly, airside, using the bus area where you can get to American Eagle and TBIT. Also, at T3, I was able to get in to the Alaskan lounge as a QP member flying AS. :D I had not expected that, as I didn't think there were reciprocal arrangements with AS for lounges.

Sad news on the drink chits looks like they are on the way out. :(

If you are flying AS first, with the AA code share and have Qantas Club membership then you have access to the AS Board room, well that is how I read it.

If you have booked AS First (or AA codeshare on AS First) and the fare books in to the F bucket, that is all the entitlement you need - no QP card or otherwise necessary.

I was in the DFW Admiral's Club today and at reception was offered a complimentary beverage voucher in case "I wanted a bottle of water". The ladies had a laugh that alcohol was free and water was not.
I had a couple of 'house' gin and tonics. I think to have premium spirits was $9. They also only have light US beer on the free list.
For my $1 tip (which I was waving when I ordered) I appeared to get a triple shot of spirits.

Sounds about right. I usually make it quite obvious when I have a drink chit that I have a single on top of it. Usually assures me of a generous pour.

Interestingly enough, in the SFO A/C I've been told once 'oh you'll need to pay for top shelf' and you simply slip them an extra single, and it turns into a complimentary coughtail :)
