AAdvantage award Devaluation - Bookings from Mar 22nd 2016

DOI is updated effective latest change per ticket Exchange. I'm not aware of any unpublished backend system enforcing prior ticketing rules that override a new ticket with updated DOI. Anyone else have experience here? I might casually ask them next time I move another flight.
Interesting - last month I received an eTDS notification of ticket exchange from AA for a P/Z MEL-xLAX-JFK next month.

Don't know why - the flight times/numbers had not changed.

Anyway, the DOI is now April 10th, rather than July last year.

I have the KVS tool but I need to update the subscription, apologies for asking a repetitive question but what is the best way to search flights now to use up the last of my miles.

I will upgrade my KVS today.

You've answered your own question -- KVS Tool can be used to conveniently search for Award Availability on EY, as well as all OneWorld Partner airlines.

Thanks, i just renewed my membership, however when searching it looks like i need a Cathay, BA JAL etc frequent flyer number to search their awards? I used never have to do this before. Can you confirm.

Also could anyone let me know what is currently the route/airline with most availability from Australia to Uk/Ireland using AA miles

Thanks

The homepage always remains. A separate screen should open up for you to then make your selection from the left hand side (eg JAL award, upgrade award, partner award etc etc).

Has anyone successfully changed an award ticket past the 12 month date of original ticketing by making 2 date changes?

Sorry, been out of the loop for a while.

Do points expire after a certain time with no activity? Can purchasing the minimum amount of miles keep points from expiring?

Miles expire after 18 months of no activity.

Any activity - as long as it makes your points balance go up or down by at least 1 mile - will count to stop your miles from expiring.

unfortunately the purchase of minimum miles is a very expensive exercise... $30 plus the same again processing fee. so all up around AUD100.

If you can wait 8 weeks for miles to credit you could donate $25 US for 500 miles and keep your account active.

I use the British Airways site for my one world searches. Been fairly reliable so far. Need a British address to join. Google maps if you cant remeber your friends post code.

Or hire a car for less than half that amount? Or if you are ready staying at a Hilton credit one stay to Aadvantage.

yes! no doubt there are other ways to keep miles from expiring, I was just making comment about that particular method... especially if, like me, you waited until a couple weeks before expiry and didn't really have many options left open (ie ones that would credit quickly).

thankfully I had e-opinion points through Accor hotels which has AA as a partner (discovered after much scrambling around)
