Thanks all for the info. I will use a Visa or Mastercard when dining and not staying and the Amex for when I dine and stay.

You can't pay for dining with an Australian issued Amex and get the points, if not charged to a room. It only works with Mastercard and Visa in Aust, and even then, in some hotels it's one or the other, but not both.
Thanks for highlighting this as I would never have known.
You’re a mine of information @oz_mark!

What if you just pay with an Amex and submit a missing points claim online?

Any idea if there's a list of which hotels support which? I thought it was country specific.
There was a list published for last months promotion: https://terms.accor.com.au/wp-conte...-Reward-Points-Bonus_Participating-Hotels.pdf

Don't know. I have never tried.

Just got a random call from Accor Plus asking how I am enjoying the program and reminding me i haven't used my free night (well of course not I've still got 11 months to do so).

The he also offered me 3 * member for a day passes ot gift plus also free Plus membership for next year if I can convince 5 referrals to sign-up.

Mustnt be hitting their renewal targets for the year.

I couldn't think of anyone who would want the member for a day or to sign-up so i told him to call back in a couple of months.

In addition to your usual allocation? I had a missed call today from a number I didn't recognise - maybe the same...

In addition to your usual allocation?

Might be inclusive of, he was definitely reading form a script, and not really listening to my answers. Didn't like it when I said I couldn't provide any names for member for a day or referrals right now.

I only answered because was expecting a call from a vendor.

I received the call as well! No mention of the extra day passes but was pushing for 5 referrals to sign-up for 12 months free, when I mentioned that I'm not comfortable providing contact details to him he said they don't even have to know it was you who referred them lol.

“Enjoy a bonus of 20 Status Nights when you become an Accor Plus member. You will also automatically receive a bonus of 20 Status Nights once every 12 months on each renewal of your Accor Plus membership.”

This is a good improvement. Hopefully applies to AMEX Plat members as well!

Source or link please?

Excellent news! Although my membership just renewed.. so not sure I'll get the 20 nights this year..

As did mine.

However I can’t see any terms that list start/end dates etc.

Perhaps it’s a standing offer and a call to Accor Plus may be in order when January rolls around.

Nice addition, but the Accor Plus live chat support team have no idea about this - they told me it's an "ALL Plus Vuoyger" promotion (their spelling, not mine).

It's a pity they don't offer status points instead of nights to a similar value. That would be much more appealing to me.
Yes - it would seem to me as a new starter to ALL that status points is a much easier path to status in this part of the world? I’ve got stays in NZ & SG coming up and will be Platinum after just 9 nights based on spend. Clearly these are expensive nights, but still…

I agree fully. I'd never achieve a high enough status on nights alone. I only started at Accor properties thanks to the Accor Plus from the Amex card. Quickly realised that it doesnt take much to achieve platinum status. Gold is a bit pointless as doesn't get you much above silver.

I'll call them in the next few weeks and report back.

I'll probably get to Plat on $ anyway, but at 18 nights stayed so far this year and at least another 14 booked in the next three months, it would be good to know I'll get there on nights too.
