Accor Plus Membership Discussion

I book nights, then book other nights using points. It seems to work and I am happy with what I pay. Then there are red hot rooms. And 50% off breakfast and dinners (25% off if solo). Accor ALL is still value to me, which is what is important.

I know this 25% off solo is a gripe for a lot of folks. Odd experience in Cairns once. Went to the cafe for breakfast with MrsDaver6 at the Pullman Reef Casino. I wasn't eating. She ordered a coffee and something to go. Since I was standing there, there were two people and the meal for one was given the 50% discount. Maybe you just need to have another person standing with you :)

I’d love to see the 25% solo increased as it’s a pain when travelling solo. Interesting to know there just needs to be 2 people at the check out ;) . I shall now walk up to randoms and ask them to stand next to me when paying for a discount.

It’s like the welcome drink. I pay the same price for a room whether there are one or two of us occupying it. However, if I book for just one person, I only have once drink voucher placed on the app.

My son is going to be my constant companion from now on, whether he knows it or not! 😂

Yeah, my wife works pretty much next door to the Sofitel Adelaide and often goes there for breakfast or lunch and there is now another girl from her work that goes with her and it works out much better for them. I think she pays about $35 for Brekky on her own but only about $20 each with her coworker

I’ve since got in the habit of booking for 2 regardless. It appears to be a 50/50 if I get the second voucher (it’s easier those that have moved to digital). I’ve never bothered to push it and once got told you’ve booked for 2 you’re only meant to have 1 voucher but here is both.

I always book the room for two when travelling by myself. In Australia I've always received two drink vouchers. In Singapore it's a little hit and miss as they require ID for the second person in the room.

Take +1's ID with you and tell them they're arriving later?

I let my Accor + lapse at end of June because I didn't have much upcoming travel in SEA to use the benefits.

I got several calls in July offering me a late extension, each time my feedback was that I wasnt sure Id get the benefit as a mainly solo traveler who rarely dines at Accor properties.

Anyway I received an offer on 1st August (after no travel in July) to re-join for $389 + 2000 bonus points.

Well it just paid for itself as I managed to redeem my free night for $406 value.

So if you have no need travel immediately post expiry it can be worth waiting to renew, you don't seem to be charged more for the privilege and may get bonus sign-up offer.

I did early check-in formalities (room not ready ) at The Olsen South Yarra recently but had to head off to a function solo.
At 2pm when room was ready, Mr Flyfrequently was given key and car parking access but they wouldn't do drink vouchers until I returned @Jacques Vert and @Daver6

Happened to me once too. Novotel suites Rouen. I looked at the T&Cs after arguing with them unsuccessfully and the T&Cs were ambivalent.

Cheers skip

Is there a way to view if you have used your stay free night, for the past membership year?
It says I have one free night. But I just automatically renewed my membership on August 1st. My membership year is due 31 August 2024

I'm not sure this is my new stay plus bonus or the one for this past membership year. I would hate to lose it.

Thanks @jase05 for that information. Yes I looked at that and my account said stay plus night expiring 31-08-2024 which is the end of my membership year. I think it is the new one for the new membership year.

Update: I just did a live chat with Accor and she said yes the free night is for my 2025 membership year. She was also able to tell me when and where I used the 2024 one. Which was November 2023.

Accor must get calls like this all the time. I couldn't remember using my stay plus night either, but as I was talking to the guy at Accor, I remembered. He was able to confirm. I have always found the staff I speak to very helpful. I've just booked this years stay plus night for November. I'm sure by next July I will have forgotten that one too! :)
