Saw a notification pop up on the app

Accor Plus Traveller (ie without the StayPlus night) for 4499 Rewards points [EUR90/AUD150]

Couldn't find it in the app - but this seems the offer on the website Accor Plus benefits

This year the offer is available 6 to 26 August; only new/joining (not renewals)

(FYI - last year had a similar offer for 4000 Reward points, so about 12.5% "cost of living" increase)

Has anyone had a go at using Discovery dollars to book anything (particularly a cruise)?
The Discovery offers website is a bit of a dogs breakfast but some of the cruise prices are quite reasonable.
In fact so reasonable it seems too good to be true... That as well as $500 off the price that is included with Accor plus discovery, I could top up another $1000 discovery dollars for $500 and save another $500?

Just got a call from A+ MY (where i signed up last year) offering me 2 stay night A+ for 1150 ringit to renew. Im not renewing for now but this does sound like a solid deal.

This is a new one, Accor app suggested a recent stay would earn 100-odd status points and 600 reward points, instead I got 57/187. Was not a huge spend (mostly paid for using points) but I've never seen a discrepancy like this before. Points calculator suggests the app was roughly correct, tried to submit an enquiry but was told to hold my horses at it's too soon after the stay. Will wait a couple of weeks and resubmit I guess!

Just a quick update for anyone who's interested.
TLDR: Accor Discovery can potentially be great value for cruises.

When you search cruises on the Accor Discovery offers website, for each cabin category you'll see "Retail Price", "Member Price" and "Savings". The latter being the maximum Discovery dollars you can apply to the booking. The Discovery membership comes with $500, but you can top-up at 2-1.

However, it also comes with a Buy One get One Half Off certificate you can use once per year. Most cruises seem to be eligible for this (even when not stated on website) and it can result in a significant saving. For example I quoted a 2 person cabin (no added packages) on a cruise retailing for $10,840 on Princess.com (and others), but the price from Accor Discovery for same cabin is $8,135 using that certificate. Quite a handy saving.

A couple of caveats: You have to call and go through their agency (I usually prefer booking direct). And as a result - a $275pp agency fee if you have to cancel. So be sure you want to go :)

I had something recently as well, I submitted a help request online and it was fixed in a couple of days.

Good morning and Happy weekend.

I just book myself a 1 night stay and redeemed 2k points as part of the payment. Just wondering if that still count as a 1 night toward my nights for Platinum? I am counting and relying on every night. TIA

Yes it will. As long as you have paid something it will count. Even when you use your stay plus free night or pay for the room 100% with points as long as you charge something to your room it still counts as a night

great. Thanks all for confirming. Still very new to Accor membership.

Are people with Accor Plus booking stay + breakfast package?
Or are people booking stay and then paying for breakfast in the restaurant using their Accor Plus card?
I've got a stay and Mantra Bond St Sydney that I need to book.

The cheaper option.

Remember that you get 50% off meals when 2 people eating, or 25% discount as a solo. Often it is cheaper to pay at the time. Sometimes, as happened to me recently, there was a breakfast offer at the hotel that was the best option. You can pay at the restaurant or charge to your room.

I'm a newbie to Accor so a quick question

@jase05 I think you've been the the Sofitel in Adelaide a bit.

I'm Accor Silver plus (I will get to gold when I do the challenge but just need to be able to travel first)

Do I get 50% off the meals at Garcon Bleu if I'm not staying there - is it just the meals and not the drinks.

You don't need to be staying at a hotel to get the dining discount. In Australia, it's off the food component. In Asia I think there's also 15% of drinks or something along those lines.

Thanks and is there a limit to the discount?

Not quite sure I understand the question? You can get the discount off each breakfast, lunch and dinner if you eat at the hotel every day. And the next day, and the next…..
Just checking if you had 8 people would you still get 50% off ie is there a limit to the number of people dining

That's not quite how it works. The discount decreases depending on the number of diners.

1 diner is fixed at 25% off.

With more diners:
2 diners - 50%
3 diners - 33%
4 diners - 25%
etc

If multiple diners have their own cards, you can stack the discounts
4 diners, 2 cards - 50%
5 diners, 2 cards - 40%
6 diners, 2 cards - 33%
etc
