Accor Plus Membership Discussion

Two questions regarding StayPlus and counting as a status night.

For a free standalone StayPlus night, do you need some sort of charge on the account for it to count as a status night?

What if the free StayPlus night is in the same booking as a paid night (the rate information says the price for the first night and free for second night) - would there ned to be a charge for the second night?
There needs to be something that is billed on the folio for the stay to credit any status nights... In your case, it sounds like that would be covered by the second/paid night, but if it were a StayPlus night as a standalone stay, it could also be a meal or even a drink from the bar, that is charged back to the room to trigger this.

Cheers,
Matt.

Yes

This I don’t know as I have had stay’s before where I have got credit despite not charging anything on that day and staff had told me as long as one night is paid for I’m fine and I’ve had stays where I haven’t been credited.
Never bothered to chase them up though so don’t honestly know

1 yes
2 should be ok. It is a charge to your room account.

Ok, so I bit the bullet and purchased Accor Plus membership and will redeem it for the Wonil Hotel property. Just to confirm something, as of January 1, 2025 my 20 status nights that are included with Accor Plus will get reset to 0 correct? But I still have the Accor Plus membership benefits until my 12 month membership period expires? And am I still Silver status?

That is correct , you will have your membership active till the end of your membership period.

I haven’t read through all previous posts so please excuse this post if this information is already here. I am gold Accor and reach platinum after our current stay at Sofitel Fiji.

Sofitel Fiji have a free, replenished mini bar each day in the room we were staying in. I am not sure if that is every room, or just the adults only area we were in. Anyway there is also a mini bar swap each day if you want to swap out your drinks for other drinks. The swap is any 6 drinks for a bottle of wine which includes a French champagne. Here is the trick. You get 8 drinks in your mini bar each day. 4 beers, 2 soft drink and 2 kombucha. You can use your 4 beers and 2 soft drinks for a bottle of wine, or you can swap 4 beers for 8 soft drinks. If you do that you will have 12 drinks total, meaning you can actually get 2 bottles of wine each day. Something we worked out after a few days, and the staff are happy to do that for you at the drinks swap station.

Any idea what French champagne was available in this swap?

There is currently a 30% discount offer for Accor Plus sign ups reducing the yearly subscription to $279 for AU based memberships!

P.S. if you happen to live in another region, it is also discounted. Worth checking :p

Hope this returns again in December, when I will rejoin! I noticed earlier today that this promo also applies to those signing up via Qantas Business Rewards, where you will also get 10K bonus QFF points, and a voucher for breakfast for 2 people at participating Accor dining locations.

Anyone have any Intel on how this works? Can it coexist with personal A+ subscription?

Another Accor + question if I may.

My A+Traveller expires in November, not on auto renewal.
Can I take up the Explorer offer ($299) and will it be a September or November expiry date? Thanks

I've had to pass on several of these offers because I have ALL PLUS Ibis (thru to Mar 2025) and that's incompatible with A+... With the automatic Gold membership hack being "enhanced", I'll look again at A+ next year.

Dam bad timing again haha. Would love to take advantage of the dining discount for my trip to Bali in Oct/Nov, but that same trip is what triggers my Qantas fast track offer, which gets me close to Plat (then add A+)

There's always the spouse, cat, et c. ?
True - each new e-mail could be a new member, I guess... but if you have, or need to accumulate reward points &/or status, then this isn't a great idea as you can't merge or transfer

I have considered this. $100 worth of points plus $179 for a stay free night plus another card for dining discount is not a terrible deal, but I wouldn't have any status benefits under my wife's membership so I probably won't.

I just stayed at the Mercure Clermont Ferrand for two night on a group booking. (No stays will be recoded, nor points). However I did receive my drinks voucher, which I swapped for a glass of red wine.
