Accor Plus Membership Discussion

If I subscribe to Accor Plus right now, on which dates will I get my nights?

Will I get 20 nights now, then on December 31 all my nights will be reset and then 20 more nights on the first of January? Or is the timeline different?

The day you join.
Will I get 20 nights now,
Yes
then on December 31 all my nights will be reset
They will reset to 0 on 1st Jan 25

and then 20 more nights on the first of January?
No because you already got your 20 nights in September (or whatever date you joined).

Or is the timeline different?

You only gte 1 lot of 20 night per paid membership year (which is different to calendar year, unless you join in January). The next batch of 20 nights would be when you next renew your AccorPlus (probably Sept 2025)

Thank you for explaining this in detail.

My goal was to reach 60 nights to become a All Platinum member until March 2025 because I would like to use the platinum perks in a vaccation in March. I'm starting to travel in Mid-October, and I will not make 40 nights in Accor Hotels between October and December. So the 20 nights can not be used for anything in 2024. I would then need to to stay 60 nights between Jan and March to reach platinum.

So I can either change the hotel brand. I'm Hilton Gold member because of my credit card.
Or I buy the Accor Plus membership in January, and would need to stay 40 nights between Jan and March.

Is there any other way to reach platinum until the middle of March? Does Accor offer status challenges like other brands sometimes offer?

Accor are always offering status promotions. There was one recently but I believe that has ended now

There's also the spend option as an alternative to nights. Spending approx $10,000 will get you to platinum. Way too much for me but I am no longer surprised at the travel budgets of some AFFers.

For those that have gone down this track, what was the process?
- Did you need to update your profile residential address?
- Were there any checks done by ALL Adv+?
- Any other issues?

I'm currently in Singapore and ... nup! (Not at that price)

From tomorrow I'll be in Kuala Lumpur and am considering this.

I just checked a few weeks ago and they confirmed NO.

I'm not aware of any address checks being performed (others may know) - but know a VPN is needed if you are outside the country of purchase at sign up, because the registration page redirects you to the country of your IP.

One thing to note as you go into this, whether of concern of not, is that your customer service reps (and marketing noise) will be provided from the country you sign up to, rather than where you reside. I've not had the need to contact A+ customer service to this point, but if you are the kind who does, then also consider if that's a benefit you'd want - for a premium - to have home team support.

Like you, I'm looking at the MY option (if I pay vs use points in a promo), and will do it online when I sign back up in December.
I'm in my A+ hiatus period right now, with my AU membership having been left behind last month.

Cheers,
Matt,

Yes, I have a stay coming up next week which I did not expect - I was going to trigger in October. Currently at 41 "nights" (30+11) for the year.

The other thing I was looking at was how to do while retaining current ALL status. It'd defeat the purpose, or at least make things more complex, should a new membership be created,

I have played around with this and have come to the conclusion that getting a cheaper overseas subscription may not be appropriate when trying to stack with an existing Australian membership.

Going to accorplus.com and then logging on is ok, but when it comes time to pay, the inconsistency in residency causes a "please call to continue".

So I have renewed at the Australian rate. (I had to VPN back to Oz to do so ...)

Plus already showing but the 20 'nights' have not yet posted.

Should've called. MY A+ team offered me 30% off their advertised rates to try and renew.

Time was of the essence ... I had been called and offered 20% off the other month but I wanted to prolong status usefully and had not planned on staying at ALL properties until October.

I recall either here or on ozbargain you need them to change your residency. In the threads i read it from they had a contact who could do it. I'm 90% sure it was at ozbargain so you could take a look if needed for next time.

Yes, that's the e-mail address I've received before - but to reply, I had to type above the line, not just reply.

If you haven't opened a case with them, I'd just ignore & see what happens.

i think i had something similar and random a couple months back from Accor+. I just ignored it and haven't heard anything since.

Two questions regarding StayPlus and counting as a status night.

For a free standalone StayPlus night, do you need some sort of charge on the account for it to count as a status night?

What if the free StayPlus night is in the same booking as a paid night (the rate information says the price for the first night and free for second night) - would there ned to be a charge for the second night?
