I've just signed up for the Accor Plus membership in Australia ($399 -> $359 on The Champagne Mile).
I understand this year may not be the best to get maximum value out of this card, but I have a bit of travel planned in the pacific coming up soon.

Are there any threads or resources with the best restaurants to get bang for buck with this card in Australia (particularly Sydney)?

Also, I noticed there are previous threads about signing up for membership in Fiji or the Philippines to get discounted membership rates. Has anyone had success with this recently, or any other tips?

Thanks!

Assume you have already found the restaurant search tool on the Accor Plus site? Here is the directory for Sydney.

I recently joined Accor Plus through Amex and did a bit of research - these were a few of the more appealing restaurants that I'll hopefully try at some point this year:

Tayim Restaurant & Bar - Harbour Rocks Hotel, Sydney (menu)
Q Dining - Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour (menu)
Bacar - Pullman Sydney Olympic Park (menu) - they also do a weekly $79pp 3 course special which you can see on their Facebook page
Atelier By Sofitel - Sofitel Darling Habour (menu) - planning to try this one during Vivid
Pumphouse - Novotel Darling Harbour (menu) - this one's really only on my list because it's walking distance from work

I don't know about Fiji, but I believe buying in Malaysia is cheaper than the Philippines. LoyaltyLobby did a good comparison of all the Accor Plus rates here:

If you are looking to redeem Stay Plus nights at high-end properties in Australia I think the Indonesian Explorer Plus tier (two free night certs for $281 USD) is pretty hard to go past.

Thanks a lot for the tips! I hadn't seen the restaurant search tool so that helps a lot.

I wonder if anyone with an Australian address has had success signing up for the Indonesian or other country's membership? Do you need to put in an address in that country? I assume their system will know your current mailing address based off your existing Accor membership details. Will be good to know for renewal time!

Cheers

As far as I am aware, your mailing address need to be in the country of purchase.

Signed up for the Mrs in 2019 via Accor Indonesia. We got 2 nights stay plus.

I put down the australian address in the application form. We didn't get the psychical card but have been able to use the Digital Card at a number of AU restaurants (combined with my card for 4ppl 50% discount) without any issue.

Even with the hotels open, I've found QDining and Atelier pretty random with their hours, sometimes open for lunch, not dinner, sometime open for both, sometimes not open at all that day, sometimes open for dinner not lunch. Bacar is pretty reliable with their opening hours.

Barretts Restaurant at the Pullman Magenta (Central Coast) is good too.

It's pretty tough going in Melbourne I have to say. So far it seems only No35 at Sofitel and Miss Mi at Movenpick are open for business in the CBD at the moment.

Now on the subject of Miss Mi, I can't speak highly enough of the food, service and ambience.

Good to know about Miss Mi. Will pop in when I am on day release.

Has anyone joined through Indonesia, Accor Plus Explorer Plus Membership - 4100000 IDR?

Roughly A$403 with 2 free nights? Instead of $399 through Australia with 1 free night.

It doesn't seem to have a problems with my Melbourne address and am likely to pay but thought I'd ask the thoughts of the community first.

Also, my leisure travel is generally limited to school holidays. Are the free nights and 50% discounts available during that time?

Thanks in advance.

It seems the Indonesian site is offering discount at the moment @ 3485000.

Slightly off topic, does anyone know if 10% stay discounts can be applied after booking?

Thanks

There's a special on at the moment where an Accor Plus member can gift a membership to someone for only $75. It's their Traveller Plus not Explorer but from what I can see the only difference is that the Traveller doesn't have a free night's accommodation. I'd prefer to pay $75 than $399 and have to faff around trying to get my money's worth with a free night in a hotel that I didn't really need anyway.

Hi all!

I am contemplating the Accor Plus membership (partially for the 10k QFF points) but wondering if the international value is there to offset the cost. We (2A, 2K) will be travelling to Canada (Vancouver, Banff and Calgary) in December and London / Scotland in January.

Being aware that I am travelling over Xmas and availability might be non-existant / tight anyway - do any existing members find that they get value out of their Accor Plus when travelling overseas - mostly the free night and dining discounts. (we will not use it in Australia at all / enough to offset the cost)

thank you!

joy.

Accor Plus is good around Asia Pacific. I don't think you would get much benefit from it in Canada, UK, etc.

I think the only useful benefit in that part of the world would be the silver status you get along with Accor Plus.

Actually, does the Accor Plus 10% of best available rate apply outside of APAC?

I’m not sure, their website definitely showing member pricing but I haven’t taken the time to compare it to other websites. I was hoping for the free night and 50% off food, not worth it otherwise (for me).

Thank you!!

Outside Asia Pacific, the ALL member rate is available to anyone that is a member of ALL, rather than Accor Plus.

The free night and the food discount won't work outside Asia Pacific
