Hi everyone
newbie here

I logged my preference for trial velocity gold. Applied and approved for amex and met spending criteria. Velocity bonus points already credited but trial gold not showing yet.
Does it take longer for the trial gold status to show?
Anyone else already been upgraded to trial gold already?

The terms say to allow 30 days after you received the bonus points. So you still have some time to wait for it.

If I select the 6 month gold offer and sign up to the "Virgin Money Velocity Flyer" card am I required to earn all 100k points/spend min $1.5k per month for 4 months before I qualify, or can I just spend $1.5k in month 1 and forgo the remaining 3 months spend requirements?
I was wondering this too.
I guess without having any clarity we need to assume and plan that you need to wait 4 months (and ideally meet the goal each month for 4 months). If you are able to get the full bonus quicker than 4 months, please let us know!

For the Virgin Flyer Credit Cards that require 4 months of spending to get the 25k per month, does anyone know if it is a calendar month or statement ’month’? Hopefully it’s the latter…..

Statement month.

only remembered about this offer today and activated, but still no confirmation email. Reading the thread it seems it took several days for some, kicking myself for not activating straight away. Will try my luck and apply tomorrow regardless.

You can apply before you receive the confirmation email.

Over a week and no confirmation e-mail for me, but my selection has held when I try and select again, just saved that screenshot.

Velocity Flyer card application approved within 8 hours. Not sure how I'm going to reach the spend goals month-on-month as I have very modest expenses outside holiday periods, but I guess I will figure it out.

I hope at least you went for the card that is $1500 per month.

So I thought I was locked out of this offer since I am not a specialist and I have held the other cards within the past 12 months. Also I had three open credit cards and the third card had been problematic to get because of the other cards (I had been knocked back for another card and I had to 'edit' my application for the one I got over the phone).

But on closer inspection of the rules, I couldn't see any reference to a 12 month lock-out for the Virgin Money card. So I closed a couple of existing cards within the past five days and stuck in an application for the Virgin Money card yesterday. I fully expected to be knocked back or at least to have to show proof of closing the cards that I did not list on my application. But no, my application has just been approved with no supplementary information required. Fingers crossed I have interpreted the rules correctly and end up with 140,000 Velocity points (which I have no use for right now, but perhaps more partners will sign up).

Hi all, a questions. I have applied for the 40k bonus points, applied for the virgin money flyer card and got approved. I have just activated the card today though have not put a spend on it as well.

A few questions :
1. When will I get the 40k bonus points?
2. Is there a way for us to confirm that they have logged the correct velocity number to the credit card?

This is the first time they have done the 40k offer. The timing of the bonus is not clear in the Ts and Cs, but my assumption would be either after the first block of 25,000 points clears or after the final block of 25,000 clears. I held this card previously and the first month's points did not arrive on time and were added to the second block of 25,000. I don't remember whether the Virgin Money site lets you confirm the correct Velocity number but you would have entered it as part of your application. I remember - I did that yesterday :)

Thanks Mr H for the reply.

Ah I see. Yeah, I remember entering one too, though sometimes with these things, I would like to be sure that it has been linked correctly before I start to make transactions.

Does anyone happen to know whether if I make a payment via DEFT system, it will be considered a valid transaction to hit the minimum required spend of $1500? In the T&C, I don't quite see anything that explicitly rules these out.

The card allocates points in monthly blocks on/near the statement date so no harm in starting transactions now and confirming the correct Velocity account within the next week or two - but as a Velocity earning card I find it difficult to believe it would exist without a linked account. I have no idea about DEFT (I hadn't even heard of it and had to Google) but I would assume there's a risk it would count as a cash advance. I would just spend on regular things. Most people would get pretty close to $1,500 a month without even trying.

I registered for my preference of trial gold yesterday morning, no confirmation email received from velocity. My application for velocity flyer card was made online yesterday afternoon, have just received text and email that the card is approved.

Now, waiting for the physical card to arrive and spend!

DEFT payments is to make payments like owners corporation fees.
I've used it in the past but not for a while as they charge fees for the service.
I have no idea if they'd count towards monthly required spend, I'd assume so, but only guessing.

I can't comment in this context, but when I've used it for other cards (QFF based) deft counted. Logically if the fee is being passed on to you when you make the payment, then they should honour the points
