DEFT payments is to make payments like owners corporation fees.
I've used it in the past but not for a while as they charge fees for the service.
I have no idea if they'd count towards monthly required spend, I'd assume so, but only guessing.

I can't comment in this context, but when I've used it for other cards (QFF based) deft counted. Logically if the fee is being passed on to you when you make the payment, then they should honour the points

Yeah currently my amex card do count the points when I use DEFT system, so was hoping it will do the same. Maybe I will give it a try at least once and see whether that goes through.

This card was really to get the bonus points for me.

For those who have received the physical card, how long did it take for it to arrive? I got approved within 2 hours over a week ago. It wouldn’t usually faze me but I’m about to make a large purchase and would like it to count towards my first month’s spend requirement. Here’s to hoping it arrives in time.

I was approved on a Monday. Received the card the following Monday.

I found the Virgin Flyer card easy to link up to your VFF details. I've just received my approval for the WBC Platinum card and have activated (and now used) the Digital card whilst waiting for the Physical card to arrive, but I can't for the life of me find how I link it to the VFF (I recall providing in the application), but given there is a $50 fee to setup to link to VFF I'm surprised it is not obvious.........unless my account is not fully setup.

My experience from earlier in the year makes me think Westpac don’t have good automatic systems in place for the Velocity cards. My first statement came through and even though it was a “Velocity” card the link was never made and I earned 0 points. They did however charge me the $50 fee on the first statement, so that part of the system worked.

It was all fixed after a phone call and a few business days for them to fix the error, including the bonus points. (A fun aside, the person who first answered my phone call told me my card wasn’t a Velocity point warning card… even though the card was printed with the Velocity logo!)

Still nowhere in internet banking is the Velocity number listed. Compare this to Amex where my Velocity number is printed on the physical card.

Not necessarily.
Cash advances also often have fees, but cash equivalents are typically excluded.

For those who have not received the confirmation email, I got this today from VFF Member support.

“Recently, an issue has been raised where members are encountering the same issue that they're not receiving any email confirmation with regards to the promotion.

We have recently confirmed with our support team that as long as you have made your selection and the green check appears on the benefit that you have selected, Our system will be able to identify that you have joined our promotion and you can proceed with choosing the eligible card that you prefer”

I'm on Day 31 and still no statement.
31 days is the max usually. It would probably be safe to spend late afternoon and transactions will count towards the next statement by the time they post to the account.

The safest bet of course is to call them and ask, that is if you can bear the Citi call centre.

You just can't be sure they didn't add a week on for the first cycle. Better to wait and see if meeting the spend targets is going to be touch and go.

conditionally approved for the Westpac Platinum, been a long time dormant westpac member so saved on the $50 reduced annual fee. Just pay the $50 velocity rewards fee. Easy 115k points.

See if my velocity number will appear in the online backing somewhere next few days. Probably won't as you say so phone call will be warranted.

Seems like you need to leave over a week for delivery for the Velocity Flyer cards. Approved last Thursday but still no sign. Unfortunate as a bit of a weekend planned!)

I'm on Day 31 and still no statement. I've never been so keen to receive a credit card statement. I have some expenses I have been holding off on to go towards next month.

All you need to do is login to the portal and it give the information of next statement date and on the transactions it has a line through where one statement period finishes and the next starts. It is the standard Citi Portal rebranded for Virgin as used for many other credit cards. I do find the summary information confusing at the top and have had to manually add the totals of the transactions below to ensure I've hit the limit in case reading the summaries incorrectly, but all the information is there.

Does anyone happen to know whether if I make a payment via DEFT system, it will be considered a valid transaction to hit the minimum required spend of $1500? In the T&C, I don't quite see anything that explicitly rules these out.
BeemIt too might be a good option for Visa/MasterCard cards to pay for BPAY/DEFT. It's free with no 1.5% fee. Though haven't tried it with Citi cards. Definitely works (point earning transaction) with CBA cards.
Doesn't work with Amex

Does this mean the application for the credit card can be made after 31 May? The terms only state that you need to make the selection (40k points or Gold status or travel credit) by 31 May which I have done. But I couldn't apply for the credit card during the month of May as I was overseas. Any input is appreciated.
