So back to the first statement discussion. Was approved on 26 May, activated card today (7 June) - when can I expect first statement? Normally would not be fussed, but family member has a hefty professional liability fee come due toward the end of June, so need to figure out if the date will work...

Edit - paging @aikman , did your first statement show up?

Don’t overthink it. Just phone them and ask.

I'm not certain of this answer, but I believe the next statement date would be 26 June.

The reason is I don't think logically the card activation date affects the statement date. For example, if you lose your card and get a new one, and so the card is activated again, the statement date won't change or be delayed. Similarly when your card expires and you get a new card, activation won't change it then. Further, your account has been approved from 26 May, so legally they need to provide a statement showing its status. Delaying for card activation doesn't seem sensible as the account exists; the card is separate from/just a means to access the account, which the statement reflects.

We’re not off to a good start, Virgin Money and me. 4 days in and I’ve already been charged an international transaction fee on a purchase in AUD 🤦‍♀️
How much is the foreign transaction fee our of interest? I am going abroad for 2 months but still want to make my $1500 spend somehow...

If you have the spare cash, a common way to meet these targets is to prepay utilities, insurance or other regular bills up to the required amount and just spend as normal on your regular card.

... Keeping in mind that Citi also excludes government related entities who often fall in those categories from earning, e.g. water board, council rates, ex- government insurers/CTP.

I got my first statement on the morning of Day 32. Based on my experience, you should get yours in the morning of 27 June.

Hi, does anyone know if I could still get the bonus points if I applied for the credit card before choosing the bonus option? I know, it was a stupid mistake, but crossing fingers I would still get it.

Read upthread, seems it's possible. T&C's changed at some point.
Don't we all do things backwards at times.
Did you slap yourself in the face, ha?

Almost literally did haha, I have this habit of not really reading the fine print as much, but yeah crossing fingers!

When in doubt paying rego, council and government charges through the zip virtual card or the ZIP BPAY service and then repaying it with your VISA/MC or Sniip for Amex would do the trick to make sure it counts towards the spend required for the bonus points or general earn.

Held Citi credit cards in the past and no problems getting points with ZipPay.

Just checked the t&c's for virgin card - government transactions don't count toward monthly $1500. annoying. I should have used snip.

Just quickly, has anyone requested for their $129 travel credit yet and if so, how long does it normally take to arrive?

I requested it 3 days ago and they sent me an email regarding a Travel Bank.
Logged in with my details but I see the balance is showing as $0.

Thanks!

re $129 voucher, I've had the High Flyer card for years & on requesting the $129 voucher you just have to do it each new anniversary year after your 1st purchase that year.
Takes about 5 days from requesting it from memory.

Thanks for that, I will give them until next week since it's a holiday on Monday.
