Does this mean the application for the credit card can be made after 31 May? The terms only state that you need to make the selection (40k points or Gold status or travel credit) by 31 May which I have done. But I couldn't apply for the credit card during the month of May as I was overseas. Any input is appreciated.
So what is the consensus of the AFF brains' trust on this? GDA380, like you I was OS and just returned. I have an email from 13 May making my selection and want to apply for the virgin money flyer card. Did you end up applying? Not sure if it is worth the hassle debating the point with VA if the additional 40,000 points don't show up or wait it out for a similar offer to arrive. VA2 Bain seem to be very aggressive with getting people status and using their credit cards, presumably to fatten up before a sale.

ah QF seem to be aggressive & desperate to get people status, I mean 3 Status match periods & 4 DSC's offers within 16months.
VA 1 status match & 1 DSC offer in same period.

re credit offers, not a month goes by that I don't receive a credit card offer from QF emails.

VA have had an ongoing promotion offering bonus status credits on all fares (up to double) and are now offering status credits on reward seats and been handing out trial gold memberships like candy, especially through their business program.

Anyway that was not the main point of my post, I am trying to ascertain if anybody has applied after 31 May and received the 40,000 points or what the general consensus is, re: would you receive the 40,000 points, given the T&Cs are murkey? There was some discussion on this earlier in the thread but no clear data points.

The secondary point about status and credit card offers was to ask the question, should I wait for another promotion or roll the dice and apply now hoping the 40,000 points will show up?

As a data point - I applied for the card on 30 May and was approved on 31 May. I have still not received my card. I do not expect to receive any bonus points until the end of my first statement period (presumably early July) and I do not expect to get the 40,000 bonus points until the end of the fourth month (early October). So I doubt anyone has applied on or after 1 June and yet got a definitive answer on the bonus 40,000 and will not get that answer for some time yet.

Only you can know whether to roll the dice now or wait for another promotion. FWIW, I would say the regular 100,000 points would be a significant incentive and worth going for. The extra bonus point offers seem to be very rare, so I would not bank on it being repeated in the near future - if ever. These are strange times and they bring strange offers. I am jumping on them as and when I see them.

Just a heads up, I was also approved on 31st May and just received my card this afternoon. Based upon the info I gathered from this thread, I suppose I have about 20 days left until my first statement.

My letter with my Virgin Money card was dated the 3rd. The statement date ended the 2nd

Hope that helps

Hi everyone

Just got upgraded to trial gold digital card says: review date: 8th dec 2022
card expiry : 23rd Jan 2023

does that mean if I do NOT earn enough status to keep gold do I get downgraded on 8th Dec or Jan 23rd?

Card is valid with its benefits to Jan 23. But if you want it renewed you'll need bookings by Dec 8th. The extra leeway is for partner flights that take a week (or more) to get credited even though they were earnt during the time.

I agree with Mr H's response above - the VA Flyer deal is one to be jumped at with or without the 40k.

Probably worthy of a separate thread, but I have also noticed VFF's aggressiveness in SC and points hand outs (it's obvious why) of late and agree QFF the same, but VFF would have their nose in front IMO.

Well well had a nice surprise this morning when I logged into my account.

The 40k points landed out of the blue ;)

26/04 - Card approved
27/05 - First statement and first batch of 25k points posted
11/06 - 40k bonus points posted

Really surprised to be honest as I was one of those who clicked on this deal days after I was actually approved for the actual card.

I also had a nice unexpected surprise. I signed up to an Amex card to take advantage of this offer, but I’m still waiting for those bonus points to be posted later in the month.

Instead, on June 7th I’ve been given a bonus of 40000 “direct earn Westpac” points. I signed up for a Westpac card in March, and the signup bonus points were posted on May 6th, which is why they must have counted towards this promotion.

I am another who just received a nice bonus surprise.

Received my Virgin Flyer card in late April. Met spend and was allocated the first 25K bonus in my May statement.

Thought I might just try to apply for the 40K bonus in late May without much confidence that I would qualify.

June statement just issued and the second 25K PLUS the 40K bonus are now in my VFF account.

Happy days.

I posted a question a few days ago if I would receive the bonus points when I applied for the card before I clicked to choose my bonus reward, so hearing all these "surprising" posts really makes me happy! Good to hear guys!

I thought I'll share that I selected the 40k velocity points and I've just received the points last week, I signed up for a WP card and signed up for the offer late April

Wrt those who signed up for Virgin flyer card , did anyone receive the 40 k velocity points after the first 25 k points ? Or does one need to receive all 4 installments over 4 months as per t ‘s and c ‘s ?

It seems from others' experience that it comes at the same time as the first batch of 25k points.
