I applied and received my virgin money card in march, and have recieved 3x 25000 points to date but signed up for the 40k bonus thinking that I would sign up with Westpac, but ultimately did not…..however, 40k points appeared a couple days ago anyway…woohoo

Thanks Virgin!!

re $129 voucher, I've had the High Flyer card for years & on requesting the $129 voucher you just have to do it each new anniversary year after your 1st purchase that year.
Takes about 5 days from requesting it from memory.
Hi @MooTime how/where does one request the $129 voucher please? It's not obvious to me and I can't find anything on the Virgin website. Ta heaps.

Sad to say i missed seeing this offer until now. What an awesome offer! What a shame I missed out.

I registered to this offer before 31st May. Got the email confirmation but decided to hold of until June to apply for thr westpac card.
Am I too late to get the offer?
Thr terms and conditions written on this is sucks. It just says pick any of the cards on the list.. and some of the cards on the list said the offer expires 30th June.

I registered the offer in May & applied for Westpac platinum card in early June (June 30th expiry as you noted).
Have card already and spending on it, will hit the $4k before 1st statement.

Will post here what unfolds in regards to points landing.

When is your first statement?
Wondering if i should just apply for it now?

I expect my 1st statement early July, 30days from being approved. Obviously received card 5 days later.

I think you'll be fine to apply still as Westpac cards have apply by 30th June date under the offer.
But just read the T&C's with a fine tooth comb!

I had read the T&Cs previously, but now they have changed it online.
I only want to do this if I get the bonus, otherwise I rather get another card with a different FF program.
Fingers cross it comes through for you.

By the time you have an answer it will definitely be too late for you to join in. You either have to roll the dice, or not. FWIW, if you activated the offer before 31 May and apply for a Westpac card before 30 June then I believe you would have met the Ts and Cs as they applied at the time you activated the offer - so you would have a strong case for claiming the points if they don't come automatically.

Yup. Going to do this!

My take earlier is that the Westpac one would be fine:

Just spoke with westpac couple times trying to confirm few items.

They confirmed my Velocity number is on my account.
They confirmed my statement period (so I can hit the spend $4k threshold in 1st statement).
They confirmed (on first call) I'll receive the 75k points after spending the $4k.
They could NOT confirm anything about the bonus 40k velocity points once I spend the $4k. Lady didn't really know any difference between the bonus 40k & standard 75k.

I was told when I rang a 2nd time that no bonus points are listed/linked to my card, it's all in the T&C's on the website & will be honored.
hmm 2nd call the lady seemed little not interested & blah blah. maybe close to end of shift 5pm & wants out of her bedroom office & move into the loungeroom!

I'll spend threshold then cease using the card & see what happens with points arriving.

The bonus points come from Velocity, not Westpac. You will only confuse the Westpac team by asking them about it.

Hey folks, I signed up for the 40,000 pt offer in May, and was subsequently approved for a Platinum Amex on 28/5. I sent the referral link around to a few mates/colleagues once I got the card activated.

I made a few purchases (only like $600 worth) and had 40,000 Velocity points drop into my Amex account on 9/6. The description reads Referral Bonus These points have been added because of an offer or qualifying purchases made. Category = Bonus Earn.

I just want to sense check - is this a referral bonus? (Amex reckon it is, and I tend to agree given the wording and plus I didn't think the 40k bonus offer dropped until you'd met the $3k min spend limit)

I think - but happy to be corrected...

If the points have come into your Amex account then they are referral bonuses. The Velocity offer was from Velocity themselves and the points would come into your Velocity account, not your Amex account.

Good point - thanks for that. Didn't even occur to me. (spot the amex virgin)
You'll get the 40k VFF in your Velocity account once you have completed the spend requirements of the Amex offer.
