Advice on champagne

I saw a display in a French restaurant in Brisbane a few years back, and began saving the caps with no real plan in mind.
Collectors are known as "placomusophiles" and some are very passionate about it. The display case I bought in Beaune on my recent trip there, and in Èpernay there are numerous shops where you can buy caps, storage cases, albums, and rattling boards similar to this one.
Some caps are highly sought after and serious cash can change hands. My display is "going straight to the pool room" !! :-)
It's a bit of fun and a conversation piece. I may or may not get another case like it when next in France, this one cost about €110.00 , there are much less expensive options available in Èpernay, but I prefer the timber frame of this one. The front is Perspex not glass by the way.
I have a fair few caps now, an ice cream tub full to be precise, so I'm happy to swap , even give a few away to anyone interested in doing something similar.

No. But that is kind of cool. I think I might start!

I have two wooden boxes of corks as well, mostly champagne now that most Aussie wine makers use screw caps.

And I confess to having a shameful number of these treasures, which will go a long way to explaining why my Last Will & Testament will not be worth fighting over. :)

I collect only the caps from bottles I've actually consumed, though. (Well, not necessarily the entire contents! I do share. :))

So you have a few thousand then (LOL).
