Advice on champagne

Bollinger La Grand Annee Vintage 2004 for $150 through these guys. Bollinger La Grand Annee Vintage 2004 - Champagne & Sparkling - Current Catalogue

I preferred it when it was free in the EY F lounge :p

Also doing the Whisky deal I posted on the Whisky Thread. http://www.australianfrequentflyer....und/advice-on-whisky-56975-2.html#post1116067

We had the 2004 yesterday, for a family birthday. Nice - but not sensational, I thought. But at EY F prices, more than acceptable. :)

An interesting article in the Weekend Australian placed Australia as the 6th largest market after Britain, USA, Germany, Japan and Belgium. Apparently we have sales of just over 6 million bottles per year. Britain's sales are 30 million annually.

Also the flute is giving way to the tulip shape such as the white wine glass which allows more room to breath and to pick up the aromas

I just could not do it - well not at this point in time anyway. I still sadly miss the pop of any cork from any wine bottle due to screw tops - I just love some of life's simple things.

I do love a champagne cork popping, it's just such a beautiful sound.

Hot off the press from Dan's - use Wish/SH and this is seriously good value - IMHO of course.

I haven't been reading this thread for a while. Has anyone registered for the Amex 3x$50 spend at Dans and get $50 credit? I am not a champagne drinker but I was thinking of you lot when making the obligatory purchases to qualify for my 3 spends on each of 3 cards.
Took no time at all and I am very grateful for the credits from amex.

There's a whole thread on it somewhere.

Really blackcat, I think I just wanted to brag a little. ;) Also remind you bubble sniffing types the deal was there to be had in-case anyone missed it. :) I was happy buying Mildara Cab Sauv normally $29.99 for $13.33 delivered. It was an end of stock deal that, when added to the credit provided a healthy saving. Sorry for the OT. Credit deal runs to end of this month.
