Advice on champagne

Just got the text from Dan's to tell me it's shipping, so hopefully it'll be here before the weekend and I'll be able to pop it and give you my very unprofessional opinion.
Although the both for $80 is limited to 3 pairs per day according to the link on the offers page, so you might not be able to nab as many as you want if you wait until then.

A pity the "Secret" Taittinger is unavailable again - that was/is a lovely $40 drop! :)

Otherwise it looks like your best bet at Dan's might be the Mumm, the Lanson, or the Mercier (which I haven't tried. Any opinions on that?)

Would love to know your thoughts (especially before the offer expires on Sunday!)
Am looking for a case of something to share at a 70th b'day party in June, and the $40 range sounds good.

Thanks!!
I did the Taittinger with this crowd at Christmas so was thinking something different (but do still have some lol!)

My original plan was Piper, (I really like that!) But good call on the Lanson too. I'm also yet to try the Mercier

DM have Krug online for $259, single bottle. Is this about as good as it gets for a single bottle price? I think there was an offer not that long ago - 2 bottles for $300-something?

Nicks has it for $230 - Krug Grande Cuvee Champagne - Super Premium - $40 plus

I'm sure it was a bit cheaper at Dan's just before Christmas, but I can't remember how cheaper. (just found my invoice - I paid $189.95 in a mixed 6)

Woah. That's pretty good, even if not in a single bottle. You could always buy 5 bottles of passion pop to make it up

ETA: Sure, not as good per unit as two for $330, but then there is the outlay, for those considering.

Triple Points at Vintage Cellars this weekend! For those not familiar, normally points = 5% back in the form of Vintage Cellars vouchers. $500 = $25 voucher (referred to as a cellar share). Triple points = 15% back. If you missed out on the Dans Taittinger, or have exhausted your supply, it is $47 a bottle in any six, and then add 15% back through vouchers.

Perrier Jouet is also a good price in a 6.

I love how she closes her eyes while having a drink at the end - I loved it.

OT but anybody ever try milk in a Sodastream...I always wondered if it would hold a fizz and what it would be like

It is a classic... loved it! Glad you enjoyed it also!
I think I will stick with the the sodstream recommendations to not use it on anything but water.. The way that wine fizzed looked dangerous to me!!
But don't let me stop your experiments :)
