Aeroplan (Air Canada) is now selling points

Would buy some if they would let me join.

What sort of error are you getting? I had some problems signing up and then they locked the account.

Plenty of seats in J from MEL to SIN/BKK (and probably other SEA destinations) for the few days before Xmas 2025. Haven't checked the return. Works out just over $1k AUD one way.

You can also fly to CGK for the same points price (so $2k return) then hop on a return flight CGK to LHR for Xmas with Turkish for under $5k that time of year. You can credit your TK flights back to Aeroplan too!

Seats last for long but impressive how holiday season availability is pretty good on SQ with these points.

I only have a 85% offer - is this normal? Would much prefer the 100% bonus...

Edit - ignore my comment - found the 100% bonus...

The standard and advertised offer is 85%.

Once you are on the ‘buy points’ page you need to keep going and click through. It’s on the second page where you actually buy where the 100% bonus will show, if applicable to you.

That being said, 85% is still a good deal if you have travel you want to book now and seats are there. It’s a couple hundred dollars more, but still thousands cheaper than buying a full cash ticket.

Is there a special way that you guys are searching for award availability on aeroplan. On the searches Im doing it shows on the calendar view one number for the points redemption but I dont see any flights that display with that amount.

For e.g. Searching YVR to SYD shows 91.1K on the calendar but on the results it shows the points as 379.8K. Something Im doing wrong?

Buying AC points isn’t particularly useful for redeeming flights on AC. Much better for other Star Alliance partners

DEselect ‘non-stop only’ and you’ll see all the other options, including the 91.5k (spoiler alert… it’s mixed cabin, with the majority in economy)

YVR-DEL-SYD is available for 115k, all in business on Air India. Which by then should actually be a good carrier to fly given SQ’s investment. First is also available for 150k.

Yep got that and totally agree :) Just wondering why the search shows that way and whether I was doing something wrong.
I have picked that up previously as well. Aeroplan for the US and Canada is not great because of dynamic pricing with AC and United. The workaround, for about 20,000 more miles is going via Europe. Just look for individual segments and Aeroplan rep can pull it together for you

No dynamic pricing with UA via aeroplan. Although combinations of AC/UA will dynamically price the AC sector. Sticking to UA/UA will resolve that.

Thanks for that MEL - Makes sense now :D

But UA generally only have dynamic pricing on their own metal which means it doesn't get released to Aeroplan.
Hmmm not entirely true. I just booked UA metal from LHR-EWR just yesterday using velocity but seats were available on aeroplan. Sure, they don’t release loads of seats into Australia but you can find them 2 weeks to departure
