I believe this to be so ...Have we like locked in Brisbane for AFF#4?
SYD, ADL and MEL have all had their sessions ...

That is also the belief that I have.I believe this to be so ...

Bill is a regular at Brisbane drinks nights, knows a fair bit about night clubs in the city and the Valley and speaks fluent Japanese.Who is this ring in, then?
I think QF19 BNE-SYD-MNL on a Thursday. Means you get up here early but so be it. The other one is some JQ flight (don't have any interest) SYD-OOL but not sure which days this operates.Projecting that AFF#4 will be in BNE and in late October, what is the best way to do a FLounge run ex-SYD?

I haven't tried to buy a meal in Brisbane anytime recently, but recall there were some nice spots around Eagle St Pier. Not sure what prices they would be these days...

Not to mention a one-way mirrored urinal ... :shock:Consider the Regatta Hotel (Coronation Drive, Toowong) for a drinks venue. Its a pub, so reasonable costs, has some reasonable food options for those needing non-liquid filling, has a bit of character, river views, easy transport (short walk from train and City Cat ferry).
Indeed always fun to be sitting outside making faces at those inside doing their businessNot to mention a one-way mirrored urinal ...

Its changed a lot in those 20 years (as I dare say you have ). Its more trendy and less boisterous these days. Then again, most of my visits are at lunch time when its certainly a corporate crowd rather than students.I've been throw out of there (was over 20 year ago), so it can't be a bad venue
But that shouldn't be the sole reason it may make it to the short list. But it is an interesting side-line for a visit.
It's a very young crowd there (mostly Uni students), lots of (loud) music so that may not suit some (but might suit others).

True we both have changed - it's had a couple of makeovers and I'm growing old gracefully . I never went as a student (I went straight from school to work, with study done externally). I just went to see if I could score with one (having friends who were UQ students introducing me to their female uni student friends :idea. Its changed a lot in those 20 years (as I dare say you have ). Yes, good judge of character were those bouncers. 20-25 years ago it was the place to go! Then I changed (got older ).But they let you in in the first place, so it's possible it could be a bad venue!
In that case maybe the Redcliffe RSL is a more appropriate venue .I would think that the time that AFF'ers would frequent the Regatta there will be more of the boisterour variety there. Riding the CityCat or any form of public transport will be fraught with problems (intoxication).

Be nice Flashware - you'll be old like me one day
Been there on a Wednesday night recently? Not a lot of fun at all and they serve beer in plastic cups. Unless you want to perve on young uni students not my idea of a quiet night out.Its changed a lot in those 20 years (as I dare say you have ).
