I am involved with running a footy tipping competition; it has about 400 AFL tippers (also around 100 NRL). The link is in my prior post here.

No-one will ever be entirely happy with the rules; however the rules must be clear up front, and with OzTips, they are fully available before one joins.

I forgot to tip this week (had a big deadline with a CR the had to be available to commence system testing noon Friday[to be implemented 29th May ]); so be it - unless your're on it all the time one can miss out.

For me I'm out what I paid , but still will enjoy trying to catch up with a series of pool sweeps )

They were stated in the first post f this thread as well. Statements about the rules only just becoming apparent are false. They were stated up front.

(And yes I read the now removed post that stated that they had only just become apparent)

That is not what was said (nor implied) in the post. The rules have only become apparent to "me" as each of the instances has arisen as I did not bother to read the terms and conditions when I joined.

I did not criticise anyone, simply stated an opinion (right or wrong) and it is time to move on....

I only screwed up with the Hawks so far, 6 from 7. Hoping the Dockers hold on, and it’s almost a clean sweep for me.

I think you’ll find that’s there each week after the competition starts.

Where does this info come from?

A: I found the reference... reading the next sentence "Note: Unregistered Logins or entries that have been removed from this Competition will remain in the Ladders until the Rescore." would suggest this is how the game is regulated by Oztips...

Other than that, I have no idea.

FWIW, the organizer CANT change the rules once the comp has started as far as I am aware

This week I fell from grace...my tips had me 23 / 29 (4 right) and dropped from 3rd to =7th.

Well I must also share some stuff here about comp setup and I think it is on topic, as it is about the tipping comp. I was also suprised by a couple of things to do with the comp - the 10 bonus points and the getting lowest tipper minus when not entering tips.

As near as I can tell, not entering tips gets you 0, rather than lowest tipper minus 1.
