I highly recommend the Night Noodle Markets in Hyde Park (though they end on Fri night), and Sugar Hit is going on at a number of top restaurants around Sydney from 9pm-11pm too - a signature dessert and glass of Brown Brothers dessert wine for $20.

My hotel is near Hyde Park, so could be quite a good idea for Friday for me. Thanks!

OK, I'm in to the Tarmac tour  I figured I'd do it one day and it would be fun to do it with other fellow AFF'ers. The tour will proceed even if its raining.

There are 12 seats left, and are $47 each.

If anyone wants to book, call before 2.30pm, that's the best time.

Otherwise you can call up tomorrow

Alternatively, turn up at 9.30 on Saturday and take your chances !!

I will be driving and parking there, so after wards, I have 4 seats in my car, may be able to take some of you back to your hotel or wherever you need to get to!

EDIT: If anyone needs a lift FROM Domestic terminal to the Tarmac office, PM me and we'll organise ... :)

Seeyas :)

Oz_Mark can you please update the spreadsheet!

This may have been mentioned previously, but there is an Open Day at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday. Details are on the SOH website. There is entertainment plus the opportunity for backstage tours etc. May appeal to some whilst they are in the Circular Quay area.

I may do that instead of the cruise, if it clashes.

Sounds good.

Like NM, I hope you all enjoy the event. I will be thinking of you all while sitting at home with Mrs LW awaiting the impending birth of Mini-LW#2. She's 38 weeks on Friday, so not long to go now (and you can have a "salut" for us on Friday night).

I'm hoping it will come next week (particularly towards the end), would mean less work appointments to have to cancel/postpone [like I have a say in it, but I am telling it what I'd like:rolleyes::shock:]

Added the opera house as an option (I'll wait and see how big the crowds are!)

Oz_mark, the tarmac tours said it would be closer to 2 hours to finish, so maybe 12:00 might be a bit too early for lunch for the tarmac people :!:

I'd also be more interested in the Opera House open day than I would the harbour cruise..

Yes, but the restaurant would not accept bookings later than 12, and based on what I knew at the time, it was achievable to get there!

Phase one of my travelling to the gathering has been completed. I drove from Ulladulla to Gosford today. Yes, I drove PAST Sydney.

Phase two tomorrow involves the ferry to Woy Woy followed by the train to the city.

Now to get cracking on booking that accom.....

Karen

PS I hope there's no rules to this weekend saying we HAVE to fly to Sydney. I could maybe get driven up to Newcastle to fly to Sydney........?

You can get here anyway you like :p

You could always fly in from Newcastle, catch the train to Circular Quay, then get a taxi-boat all the way to the Helm Bar ;)
