Sue and I are still unhappy that we were unable to be there in the end.

We hope everyone has a really great weekend and that many old and new friendships are made and remade. Have a great time everyone. :D ;)

I/we look forward to the 'trip reports'.

Thanks to the organisers for doing a great job on what ultimately is a thankless but at the same time, rewarding task.

There ended up being 16 at Helm Bar and 15 at Genghis Khan. Not sure what the plan is after this.

if arriving at lunch at 230 subject to qantaslink vagaries is acceptable, i'll be there

Coolumbla

MAybe i should specify Sunday lunch!
Or just a few beers by the time i get there!

Whose name is the booking under or will i recognise you by the noise?

Hello,

I was referred to this site and the get together events over the weekend. If it's not too late, would I still be able to join Sat lunch...? I am not sure how I can identify the group though...

Sadly I won't make it to AFF Gather #3. I just have too much work on currently, and as a result I'll be working right through the weekend. :(

I'd like to echo the words of straightman, LindsayWilson, et al and send my regards, and hope you all have a great weekend. I look forward to living vicariously through TRs and pictures. :)

Just having some breakt at my fav cafe. Will be there soon for tarmac tour. See ya all then :)

You have a private message. See you at lunch!

Sounds like a great week-end.
Wish you all an enjoyable get together and hopefully will come to one of these in the future.

Just sitting in the MEL terminal waiting for JQ bag drop to open:(.
Have a great time all.

Another update: sitting at Din Tai Fung gorging ourselves on tasty tasy dumplings. The folk that went on the SYD Tarmac tour are now unfashionably late!

The tarmac tour was great!

oz_mark, oz_mark+1, anat0l, Flashware, karens, wtolmie and me ....

It went for about 2 - 2.5 hours. We got back to the departure point at around 12.30.

Saw Etihad's A380, and also seemed to be Qantas family day or something .... lots of people inspecting the latest Qantas A380 (Fergus McMaster).. also saw some of the new Qantas NZ 737's. The highlight for me was parking the bus between 16R and 16L, we got to see departures and arrivals. A China Air plane was taxiing for departure, but had to return to terminal due to problems prior to take off :!:

No cameras were allowed including camera phones!

Unfortunately my car was not a 7 seater, so could only take the first 4 !

Sydney traffic was unusually bad for this time of day, all ways were chockas, I even took a detour. Took 30 minutes or so from airport to city . The ED entrance look busy, but will never know what CCT exit was like! Maybe I shouldn't have avoided the $8 toll  Sorry guys, my fault they were late

I dropped them off at World Square and will come back to the city this evening

Considering I am still awake at this time of the day I will more than likely be late.

Not many users on AFF at this time of the morning; I guess there aren't that many people who would have a flight departing at 5:00am  who have the time to be reading AFF.
If I had a flight that early in the morning the last thing I would be thinking about is some online forum....

[ Do I get a big pat on my back for my Helm Bar & Opera Bar suggestions, which is now on the schedule  ;) :p *just teasing* ]
Depends.

Wow what a night! Met lots of new faces tonight !

Home finally, going to bed. More later ...

 @ Karens and Flashware, they left without saying bye
:rolleyes: :lol::lol:

Was great to meet the ones I did meet (even though I was not meant to be attending and decided to come up at very last minute). I'm sure you'll all forget me as I was pretty much the only sober one down at Opera bar ;)

I'll be sure to come to the next one (and I've got to catch up with a few people down at the Melbourne drinks next month. It's already in my calendar:))

Just in case anyone is relying on Airport Link today, trackwork is taking place and trains are replaced by buses from Central (Eddy Ave). Allow extra time, but it's cheap - I paid $3.20 from Circular Quay.

Why didn't I find that out early, you can usually find an airport shuttle for $12 I paid $29 as I was in a hurry
