No go for me either...same message as anchew. I've tried Firefox and IE. Weird. (I've only tried the 1140 session). I want to pay, they don't want my money! :(

I seem to be having no troubles getting to the shopping cart, but I'm logged in to the site from previously purchasing something else. I just logged out and still encountered no issues though, and the number of free spots just dropped to 4! So hopefully that's you guys, if not, I'll have to snap the rest up tomorrow, presuming my access then doesn't stop working.

Edit: Tuesday afternoon, 4 spots still available, tickets for samh004, anchew, tuapekastar & penegal have been paid for.

Thanks Sam.

It seems a little bizzare that their website is incapable of functioning on several browsers for several of us (all interstate / overseas) - Doesn't the Gold Coast want visitors?

For those that were interested in the Skypoint Climb (I count 6 incl. myself), there are 8 spots left available for the 11:40am climb. Bearing in mind you have to do a breath test at the start, and have a Blood Alcohol Concentration below 0.05%, is there a consensus on time?

Tickets can be booked online, and I would suggest we all book tickets when we come to an agreement on a session to attend together.

Book Your Climb | SkyPoint - As Far as the eye can see

Those who indicated they'd like to were samh004, penegal, anchew, tuapekastar, Bundy Bear and maybe trippin_the_rift.

Have signed up for the 11:40am now 3 spots left.

trippin_the_rift has indicated he won't be participating, so anyone else coming or not coming to AFF6 is welcome to join the 5 of us who are going.

Todays update is for the Saturday night dinner at Videre restaurant.

Shortly the organisers will be providing details in PM's and/or the mobile numbers provided to those attending the Saturday dinner for a full pre-payment of the food cost, of $78.5. Drinks on the night can be split per person, per table, but full payment for food before the weekend is required to confirm numbers.

The menu has indeed changed again, and is provided in full below. For those that have indicated a disliking (trying to think of a better word but coming up with nothing) to seafood, the two seafood dishes can and will be swapped out for something more appropriate.

The night starts at 17:30 for drinks in the bar, and watching the sunset over the Hinterland, before moving to the dining room at 18:30.

Five course degustation: $78.5

Prawn & Avocado Cannelloni:
Wild wood sorrel, romesco sauce

Breast and Leg of Quail:
Pistachio emulsion, gingerbread spices

Steamed Snapper:
White bean puree, fennel seed bisque

Palate Cleanser

Honey Glazed Duck:
Blood orange caramel, fresh broad beans

Hot, Cold & Iced Pineapple:
Salted popcorn parfait, flavours of bourbon

In regards to the BBQ, I have slowly been putting together a menu for the day, though of course all is subject to change based on what I find at Woolworths (or Coles if I'm still being neglected) the day before. I realise some have early flights, and others slightly later flights, so food will be on the BBQ almost immediately following the conclusion of Golf.

I'd say a start around 12 - 12:30 would be appropriate, though members are welcome to arrive earlier or later, whenever suits.

  • Sausages - beef and/or pork
  • Chicken - marinated in many different ways
  • Fish - Fijian-style if I can find the time
  • Breads, buns, rolls
  • Ketchup, BBQ, HP, spicy and mild sauces
  • An assortment of salads, from the crisp leafy kind to the carb-rich potato
  • Desserts... to be advised
  • Basic beers, wines and soft drinks
  • Coffee & tea

If there's something I've missed and you think I should include, or something you'd like to bring, to contribute, you're more than welcome. I want to cover a basic range of things, though I'm not solely providing this whole list, I've had members offer things, showing off this wonderful community, and will be recognising them at an appropriate time.

Well done Sam..

I'll bring along if you like - some assorted Cheesecake & some Red Bull!
Soft background music would be appropriately pleasing as well..

No congratulating until it's all over ;)

I have just shy of ~25,000 songs on my computer, so music should be sorted.

Kindly inform the friendly security & your neighbours about a small gathering of strange types with a common interest. (other than the golf attire)

I have submitted the form.

Still only attending Sunday golf and BBQ but not sure how long I will stay at BBQ.

At this stage I'm confirmed into the QT. sadly though it means I cannot earn points on my beloved gold passport programme.

on second thought, I've moved myself into meriton on southport. Apparently the rates over there are cheaper than at QT and i can earn miles on A3.

Hey Sam. What teas are available?

I know the answer but want the world to know of your Twinings obsession

I'd expect him to have the lovely timber box with golden latches sporting a full range selection then :)

Not the special ones you like, but I'm sat in the J lounge right now... so I hope I remember to pick some up on my way out ;)

That timber box is overpriced and much too small for the amount of tea i have stored in the pantry. I have 8 100-packs (always needs a spare or 2) in my pantry at the moment ;)
