Can I add as a Sunday participant (many thanks samh004) as part of the SYD-OOL re-inauguration.

That happens, I need to see about better advertisement of the event soon to finalise numbers and activities.

You're more than welcome to join just for lunch.

Just chiming in, I have just booked on the inaugural SYD-OOL flight so will be in to OOL by 9:30am on the 28th. I am sure there is more of us who have just booked on this flight. I will probably fly home on Sunday night some time but if anyone has anything planned (Lunch perhaps??) I would love to join.

As part of AFF6 there's always a final lunch before everyone flies (or other mode of transport) home.

I wanted to add a personal touch this year, as the organiser, and am hosting a BBQ at my place, at Royal Pines Resort (about 20-30 minutes from OOL).

Those participating in the QF welcome back to OOL event are welcome to attend. You'll meet a lot of other AFFers too.




Yep, announced today.

I saw some thread somewhere recently but totally ignored it based on the title and all the speculative threads on AFF.

I know I work in Brisbane but i am prepared to spend ~2 hours to get to OOL on Friday afternoons (train/bus fare would cost nothing) to return to SYD with that sort of airfare. It will be interesting to see where the non-sale airfare will settle.

Sounds great, I would love to attend, count me in will be the furthest I have traveled for a BBQ that is for sure

I wonder if they timed the relaunch to coincide with the AFF gathering in OOL.

I'm ever the optimist I can convince QF to send a rep to the event, the inaugural service coinciding with the event is a bonus, that I hope will make things easier, because I really do love QF!

I'm going to have to pull out of this one I'm afraid...

I've been given a choice by mrs harvyk, I get 1 weekend away in October, that weekend can either be spent in OOL or it can be spent on the west coast of the US. I've made my choice and I stick by it (lets face it, more FF points / SC's to be earned by a CBR-SYD-LAX flight than a CBR-BNE)...

If the first group tees off at 08:24, we should be finishing around 12:00 - 12:30, subject to course traffic and player ability (or lack thereof ).


At some stage people will need to arrange transport to airports to fly home. I have a J seat on DJ750 to Melbourne (19:05 departure from OOL), so I am not in a huge hurry, but I would like to car pool (or scab a lift). I don't mind getting there early and spending a little while in the lounge.
