Looks like OOL is the frontrunner!

Bugger! I helped organise AFF#4 and know nothing about this backwater.

I really don't understand why ... it's a cultural backwater full of bogans and tourists :o

I'd agree, except of course me, I'm just inconveniently stuck here.

Oi! That's my city you are talking about. Only I can refer to it that way.

So as I understand it, you nominated the Gold Coast even though you're leaving, and you'll be organising the events and such? :p

Yeahhhhh, didn't quite think that one through. I'm sure I'll still be able to organise.

It would certainly help if the chosen city (or location if non-city!) had someone willing to do the organising

Voted for Hunter Valley due to lack of an airport.

(At least it's better than the aforementioned bogan-flooded backwater ;))

PER means not easily done in a weekend without taking 2 days leave unless of course you in live in PER or you are retired....

As never been to one before what would be the general plan.

Friday night meet and greet

Sat activety and Sat night dinner

Sun breakfast

Fly home.

Per or OOL doesn't worry me.

OOL cheaper as I am MCY based

But i would still leave work at midday on the friday afternoon anyway. and get home Sunday sometime.

Friday evening drinks and then dinner

Saturday either full day activity or morning and afternoon activities and dinner in the evening

Sunday either full day activity or morning activity and gather at airport in afternoon or evening as people prepare to leave. Not going to be easy departing Sunday afternoon from PER to return to the East Coast.

Would the activity be either aviation or tourist type stuff.

Thanks

Simo

It depends what’s on offer. I recall in SYD the tarmac tour was offered, before it was discontinued, while in BNE we just did a trip to a koala sanctuary or some such, and there was golf on the Sunday for anyone keen.

So if OOL won I could probably see about a game at Royal Pines for instance on the Sunday, but there’s little aviation related things a big group could do on Saturday unless the DJ lounge is open by then :p

I know the owner/operators of the Aqua Duck Tours (those big machines that drive into canals) but I’ve never found them that interesting.

If you guys do it in Perth, we can go to Swan Valley, 30 mins away from the CBD, got wineries, chocolate factory and really nice restaurants?
