I have had a PM with two more takers for Lark. That makes 9, so Cat207 hold off paying for now as we may get more. I will keep you on the reserve list 'just in case'. Unless you really want to go, of course.

Thanks Jessica. The content doesn't really interest me (even though I'm a scotch drinker) but I'm sure the social aspect will be worth it, so I'll still go ahead and make that payment.

Monies received from VRC and spreadsheet updated.

Lark monies from me, gwilli1, blackcat20 and VRC.

What is it with Bendigo Bank? I can't add a payee to the account without a 'token'. I don't want no stinkin' token. Other banks survive without tokens. Send me an SMS code instead.

[-]Sunday Golf Activity

We are reviewing the options for a Sunday golf activity (18 holes). Can you please advise IF YOU ARE interested (don't need to post if not). This would be a Sunday morning activity and would take the whole morning, meaning you may miss out on other Sunday activities.

At this stage I think it will just be 1 or 2 of us, but I know many have expressed interest several months ago. Ideally we would have 2-3 playing groups (8-12 players). If it is just me, I will probably leave the clubs at home and follow the group.[/-]

After conferring with JessicaTam, samh004 and Newk we have decided to cancel the Sunday golf activity.

It is regrettable that we can't have another AFF golf challenge, but given the lack of interest, the lack of golfers attending the do, and the convoluted flight connections some people have, it seems a "bridge too far" to get enough golfers (and their clubs) on the course at 8am on Sunday morning.

The good news is that the first 'official' event on the Sunday will be the recovery brunch at Rendezvous Cafe (4 Salamanca Sq). This allows golfers to enjoy a drink or two at the main dinner on Saturday.

In other news: jswong and I have now paid for all Saturday activities ($115 x 2 = $230). I am happy to be the MONA "pair" with jswong also.

With the demise of golf, I may be interested in attending Lark, however this opens up the possibility of flying home "early".

Sorry about the golf not going ahead.

I have rung Lark and confirmed that the tour will go ahead, but we can add numbers for those who are still undecided. I am not sure what the maximum is, though, so I suggest letting me know sooner rather than later.

The final cutoff for all payments is only a week away.

Remember to book the ferry direct, and don't buy a MONA ticket online, as we are able to get 2 for 1 at the door with a QFF card.

yep, now that golf is off, I may try and change flight out.
But will plan brunch if flight fits

Thanks to all the organisers

Ok, I am now leaving Hobart on Dec 1 at 0700 on Virgin. Sadly I'll miss brunch. And it might be a bit hard to get to the airport on time :)
But I have now got commitments back in RAds....the "golf" word might be involved

Schedule

Friday 29th Nov

Dinner and Drinks central Hobart as people arrive.
Some more info regarding Friday night:

Drinks will be at The Lobby Bar, which is located in Hadley's Hotel, 34 Murray St Hobart. Anytime from 6pm onwards.

Thanks to jdevereux3 for organising the venue. We have an area off the bar set aside for us, and the snack menu is available - or the dining room if people so wish.

Saturday 30th November

From 8.30am Salamanca Market Salamanca Market | Hobart City Council, Tasmania

11.00am Catch ferry to MONA. This can be booked online (Mona » Shop ), and there is a regular and premium seat for $20 and $50 respectively.

MONA:
At the museum there are a range of eateries should you wish to have lunch. If you want to maximise time viewing the exhibits, then I suggest eating your fill at the market before the ferry ride. You can book your entry into the museum online, which will save queuing on the day.

1.30pm Catch chartered bus to Cascade Brewery tour, via the city to drop off those who do not wish to attend. Anyone getting to HBA this morning can also be picked up from the city for the brewery tour. The drop off and pick up places are yet to be finalised, but should include a couple of city hotels. Note that the return ferry is the same cost as a one way trip so you are welcome to head back into town on the ferry if you choose. You will need to book your return journey, and it will not be possible to do the brewery tour if you do.

2.15pm Cascade Brewery tour. The tour takes 90 minutes and participants must be over 16 years of age.
I am still finalising booking arrangements for this, but it should be able to be booked online. Pricing is $15 locals, $20 students and seniors, $25 everyone else. The bus will take us back to the city after the tour.

7.00 for 7.30pm Dinner at Smolt. Dinner will be a fixed menu with a range of choices showing off Tassie's local produce. We will have our own room, and we are still to confirm our guest speaker. So I will post their details when available.

Menu link : https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_pG...Gk3WkE/preview

The cost is $75 for three courses, and it will need to be prepaid in full. Drinks can be ordered at the table, and paid for at the end of the night. And yes they do take AMEX.

Please let me know if there are any specific dietary requirements that have not been catered for on the menu.

Sunday 1st December

Recovery brunch at Rendezvous Cafe, 4 Salamanca Sq (next door to Smolt). Booked for arrivals from/to 10:00am to midday.

Well the tour of Lark Distillery is on. $15 per person which includes a sample of "3 Lark whiskies and our whisky liqueur".

The distillery would like prepayment, so if you would like to come along, please add $15 to your payment for the event, and post/PM accordingly. The distillery is near Constitution Dock, so within walking distance of most of the HBA hotels that AFFers are staying.

Edit: The tour will be at 12.30, so enough time to start to recover from the night before.

It will go for about 45-60 minutes, which will give enough time for those departing that afternoon to get to the airport.

Golf is still to be finalised for those interested. --- CANCELLED

Day tours of Port Arthur are available to be booked individually:

or Dinner for those staying until Monday.

Re-confirming my flights (VA J). I have changed the flight home so I can make a BBQ on Sunday afternoon in the DPRV. Unfortunately I will scratch from Lark, although have done it twice before with my ex-wife.

29NOV VA1332 Dep: MEL 19:40 Arr: HBA 20:55 - I will try to fly ahead if I get out of the office early enough

This time next week , many of us would have arrived in HBA and kicking off AFF #7 . Being my first one , I am looking forward to the weekend of catching up with some familiar faces and meeting many new ones. Meanwhile , tomorrow I kick off my week of travels , heading to Wellington NZ for 4 days .

If you'd like to update the spreadsheet, Jessica, I have booked the ferry online, and will be attending brunch. Thanks.
