Hope to be here to great you all.

Hire a car and take a 1 hour drive from Cairns to Port Douglas past some fantastic beaches and scenery, have lunch at the Tin Shed on the huge deck and watch the boats from the marina go by, excellent food and best beer around all at sensible prices.

(have no association with them but been there many times).

My military mentality says you'll miss most of the fun :!:
Was it Bundy Bear that turned up for a few hours only in Cairns Ozfest? Sunday if memory serves me correctly.

And I do remember a Brisbane couple only turned up for a few hours to Hobart Ozfest. ;)

Given I used to say they always sent my mail to the Cairns QP and I insist on a week in Cairns/Cannes/Kens in Oct, put me down as an "enhanced" bronze.

I however was never a Tasmanian
Tasmanians are proof that Mexicans can swim ...

Yes I was in Cairns for all of 21 hours arrived 9:15am on Qantas, departed just after 6am on Jetstar, good memory I thought my memory was good.

My Ipad front cover has the photo with my landing into Cairns.

On the Hobart trip yes I know who you mean; I know the users first name but I would need a bit of thought to remember the username, I am sure I could check FT.

Also not sure if I upgraded from Gold to Platinum for this event.

I am already out!!!!!

SWMBO birthday weekend....

I have no chance of getting a leave pass.

I know his handle here and Flyertalk but didn't think it was a good idea to post it.

Currently there are rates of $181 for the DT or $216 for the Hilton, both rates are nonref and inclusive of breakfast.

Is this a good rate?

Check out the "early saver" rate, non-refundable with 30% prepaid ...

It appears that the Kuranda Railway is closed for maintenance on 15 and 16 Oct. It shouldn't affect the gathering as such, but if anyone is looking to arrive before the gathering to check out the area, please take note.

Trying to sort out our travel schedule for later this year around Cairns :).

Almost booked a JQ-price match but the Tiger flight was 5 minutes too early. Would have made getting to CNS very cheap! :(
