I managed to snag $199 each way on QF, for a boring old PER-ADL-PER!

Tickets will be around for atleast a few of weeks and probably longer. We can monitor the availability for a bit.

I am flexible with the day, so maybe we can let the thread run for the ins/outs for now and see if others are interested. If there are no other takers, then I can meet up after the match.

Qantas/Jetstar will launch a lacklustre attempt at competing with this sale. Will it be $60 cheaper return for Qantas over DJ ? Time will tell....

Plenty of time to snaffle a good DJ deal - just got to watch that flights you want are still available, or be flexible and go for the less traveled flights.

Not, these virgin specials are "GO Fares" with 7Kg carry on; checked luggage costs another $8 per segment on booking.

As I said, looking at prices the Go! fares are looking likely - and for a weekend I can probably skip the need for checked luggage...If QF does match, they are still usually around $80-$90 for MEL-ADL)

I always like to try something different in ADL, and this time I've settled on BreakFree Directors Studios - Introduction - BreakFree City Hotels - $139/night for a studio room is pretty good value, and it's close to the action.

Stayed there once, pray it isn't garbage night for the building across the road, the pub next door is OK though.

It's funny you say that, I booked my flights / hotels, before the poll closed etc. cause even if ADL didn't win I was going to go and catch up with some mates. Once the poll closed, I thought "I wonder if the Cricket is on" but never had a 2nd thought about it. Then Skoogle came with the info .. and I chuckled to myself
